i too like planting trees been 3-4 years now i plant mango trees as every season i buy mangoes and use their seeds as my only resource planted more than 200 seeds and i can count 45 ..that sprouted in all these years, its not much but i try my best in giving back to nature .

Now I don't know whether I missed it or you did not put it, I did not find anything on how you managed the initial soil transformation from your 2011 version to let's say where you could start planting. Secondly how did you manage your finances etc., the labour cost and other costs etc. Apart from the land cost what was you total outflow in the first 2 years of operations .

Build your soils first. The soil organisms will remediate your soil. You can grow vegetables once your soil is ready

They grow very fast because they compete for sunlight. You have to plant a mix of trees of varying sizes. Eventually, they will reach their natural state. Some will die some will survive.

Hello Maam, I live on the first floor of a gated society and have been actively working to plant local trees outside the boundary wall to help reduce dust and pollution. So far, I have planted neem, bamboo, amaltas, nilgiri, and jamun, (and some Cona carpus without knowledge about its side effects) and they have grown to about 6 feet in height. I would like to know how I can encourage them to grow taller. I’ve come across some videos about pruning, but I’m still unsure about the easiest and most effective method. Could you please guide me?

Gaurav, you will have to put pen to paper, and do your own planning. The investment depends on the state and size of your land. The market will have to be explored and developed locally. We won't be able to give you generic answers.

Keep the sapling mulched. Make good big pits when you plant them. Add manure in the pits. Keep them safe from wild animals

We did hire a landscape architect, who abandoned the project mid way. For all future projects we have made the drawings ourselves. You can do them using a simple grid paper.

If you have a wall on your perimeter, you should keep 6-8 feet distance while planting the trees.

Swales are dependent on water flow. Tree plantation depends on sun movment. Try to read both, and then plant the trees

I live in semi urban area and we have quiet big backyard..We have planted few trees there..But the only problem is the poor drainage system of our city..During monsoon water comes to our yard and do not drain easily..It remains upto 2days and bcz of that root of the plants like papaya start to rot..A very big problem for us..Plz give us a solution..

Why is it not draining? Because of the wall, or the slope or the compaction?

Can you give the contact details of the place from where you purchased bougainville. I'm also planning a green fence for my land and it would be very helpful.
