In this video we'll use iZotope Nectar 3 to shape the sound of the Shure SM7B dynamic microphone to get that pro sound for a podcast, KZbin video, or narration.
We'll also use a couple other iZotope plugins (optional) to clean the audio of mouth noises and background noise.
These basic settings will get you that pro sound, but you will still need to play around with the parameters to fit your voice and the sound you want.
The number 1 way to get your audio to sound pro, is for it to be recorded properly! The Shure SM7B requires 60dB of gain MINIMUM, so make sure your audio interface can supply that much gain. Even if your interface supplies the required amount of gain, it's a good idea to have a separate mic pre-amp.

Did you ever compare Vintage compression with the Saturation modifier (Tube) in Nectar? Are they giving a similar effect for voice warmth?

On windows, do you ever mess with the recording level in the system sound settings? (speaker symbol next to clock, sound settings, recording, right click microphone, properties, level) should I keep it 100 and dial in my mixer OR dial it both it and the mixer. reason for asking: If I put 60db on the sm7b through my mixer. It sounds great through the monitors, no clip lights proper everything. But on audacity it is always clipping unless I lower the system recording level. My other option is leaving the recording level at 100 and then lowering everything on the mixer till it gets the right levels on audacity. Both sound okay but my ears are not made for checking and NO GUIDE OR ANYONE HAS BEEN ABLE TO HELP ME. I've googled, asked reddit, and even hired an audio engineer but he works with macs and don't have this problem.

What are you running switch settings wise on the mic? Flat, low end roll, or presence boost?

Surely the Gate would do the work of the RX de-noiser.

Nope. A Gate/Expander will reduce or cut the sound below the threshold only. Voice De-Noise will clean louder audio as well with a much higher threshold and only effect the "noise profile" and not the audio you want to keep. Try it for yourself. Use quality headphones to really hear what Voice De-Noise can do. If you just gate in a noisy room, you will get this explosion of noise each time the gate opens. It sounds very un-natural.
