Tasks like this one make me amused how often creative types like comedians and actors really are lateral thinkers. There are tasks where they think outside the box so easily that they either find a genius way to complete something, or a sneaky loophole. Then there are tasks like this that seem to have *really* simple solutions staring them in the face and they just don't think of it, even when they're so close! Microwave the banana -> boil a kettle for the jelly -> blend the softer banana -> pour into bottle through funnel. That feels like it'd take five minutes? Especially if you notice the jelly early enough and boil the kettle the same time as microwaving the banana. Surprised how quick they still managed to get it down all things considered though!

If they have sharp kitchen knives you can scratch a circle around the bottle with it 2cm above the bottom. Get a kettle and prepare some boiling water, by pouring hot water over the scratchmark of the cold bottle a lot of thermal stress is introduced, amplified by the scratches. Blend the banana, use boiling water to get rid of jelly, use funnel to pour blended banana into bottle
@Riehentar5 ай бұрын
no one seemed to see the loophole. the task didn't say 'this bottle', just said the bottle. so any bottle could have been used. they could have found a bottle in the kitchen wide enough for the banana to be put in and not have to deal with the jelly mess
@HIKOL_NightcoreАй бұрын
Good idea although "The" bottle implies specific bottle and "this" banana are supposed to be used, if it said "a" bottle and "a" banana it would be justified.

Gelatin becomes liquid when hot. They should have put the bottle in a bowl of boiled water.

why did the old guy who removed the jelly so efficiently (which seemed to create the most amount of space in the bottle) only to use the blender as a bowl for the juice instead of blending up the banana?

Het a bucket of hot water, set the bottle in the hot water. Get the knife and dice the banana. Pour the jelly out of the bottle while smacking the bottom, then fill the bottle with the cubed banana pieces.

Go out, grab any plastic bottle, cut it open, put the banana in… cause it didn’t specify THAT bottle exactly

Flush jelly out of bottle with hot water. Microwave entire banana. Pour some boiling water into bottle. Jam mushy nuked whole banana into neck of bottle. Water cools, pressure drops, banana is sucked in.

AHA! It says YOU may not break the bottle… it doesn’t say someone else in the room couldn’t break it

Idve thought simply slicing up the frozen banana would've been a good way to go, a blowtorch to the bottle would've melted the jelly?

Assuming I can use a microwave, a rubber tube, a funnel and a blender.... (and you can just screw off the cap... the lock is a red herring) (1) Put frozen banana into microwave. Zap for 20 seconds. (2) Open bottle. (3) Stick rubber tube deep into jelly. (4) Turn bottle upside down, with one end of tube in it.... other end of tube in your mouth. (5) Blow out the jelly. (6) Take banana out from microwave. (7) Put banana into blender. Zap until it's all a liquid. (8) Bottle back on table, with funnel in opening. (9) Pour liquified banana into funnel, until all of it is inside bottle. Did I miss anything?

I feel like you're overthinking it. All of this requires so many different utensils and would take so much time. I'd just quickly scoop and shake out some jelly. It's easy enough if you commit, like the winner demonstrated. I guess you can add a bit of hot water if it's really thick jelly. Then just slice the frozen hard banana into thin strips and drop them into the bottle.
@v1e1r1g1e12 жыл бұрын
@@chochtopf8682 ''scoop'' out the jelly, huh? With what? A magical Scooper-Dooper you just happen to have as a special UTENSIL that just happens to be there because you want it to be there? Have you ever tried to ''shake out'' jelly from a bottle? It's not jello... or jam.... it's a totally thick air-defying emulsion. It doesn't just come out. And have you ever tried to cut a frozen hard banana? It's like rock! Clearly, you've UNDER thought it.
@chochtopf86822 жыл бұрын
@@v1e1r1g1e1 I don't think that sarcastic and extremely condescending tone is necesssary. I was critical of your idea, yeah, but I didn't mean to insult you. By scoop and shake I meant what the winning lady did where she dug around the jelly with the paintbrush to loosen it and shook it out. As for the banana, I doubt they dunked it in liquid nitrogen haha. It's just regular freezer frozen and already thawing in places, so it isn't like rock. You could definitely cut it into pieces just fine.

I can’t believe they didn’t use a straw or tube to blow air into the bottle to displace the jelly while the banana is in the microwave, then use a funnel and stick to bush it into the bottle… Should take about 5 minutes.
@promontorium2 жыл бұрын
Because jelly isn't a liquid and you blowing hard won't remove it. "Displace" implies there's a vacuum or that the jelly behaves like a liquid. It's millions of solid pieces stuck to the side. Blow all day.
@DreadX10 Жыл бұрын
@@promontorium If you blow hard enough, the difference in pressure will force the emulsion out. It has little shear-resistence. If you create a leak that lets air escape, you violently shake the bottle with neck down to close the leak and you can apply air-pressure again. The temperature of the jelly will play a role in this, so it might not be the fastest way.

Is there no blender in the kitchen?
@jonathanbetenbender3072 жыл бұрын
I'd have tossed the banana in the microwave and turned on the hot water. While waiting for that bring the blender to the room with water, and plug it in. Set the bottle in the water to warm slightly. Go back out get a poker for the jelly and a funnel. Bring em to the room. Poke out some space in the bottle. Come out with the blender grab the banana and a pitcher of piping hot water. Use the hot water to help dissolve and lubricate the jelly. Then blend the banana with some water and pour it in the bottle. The order I said because I realistically wouldn't be super efficient, but should be done in like 4 minutes
