My favorite thing is to use up all the cut up scrappy bits to make randomly pieced squares. It’s a good way to use up scraps from a distinctive or seasonal fabric collection in colors that might not mix or match easily with others . This habit has helped me create a few orphan patchwork blocks from all my recent projects. Eventually I will have enough to create a really scrappy throw , or maybe even a larger quilt. I also enjoy making patchwork fabric from old clothes, especially denims . Using two layers together helps hide all the seams. So far my favorite creations have been sturdy totes in various sizes and some workshop aprons.

I want to add something I learned from Andrew Huberman, which is that new fabric exposes you to microplastics. If you want to decrease your exposure, minimize your new fabric (including clothing) purchases.

Salem is actually my son's cat but she resides in our house and loves being in the videos (I think).
