Great video. Adjustments would be meaningful only if one starts with a calibrated monitor/screen (an unstated requirement here).

For broadcast, maybe but otherwise, improvement in adjustments can be made with an non-calibrated screen. Happens everyday.

Thank you Lok. I'm glad you made this video. I have been using the "Portrait" profile with my Nikon camera with reduced sharpening for decent results for people, suggested by Sareesh Sudhakaran (the "Wolfcrow" channel). I will try tweaking the Flat profile too after this for the bright highlights. Cheers, -Rob

Such a good video and informative. I was a log shooter for so many years. I've given up that shit and it's straight to STILL or 709 Hahahahahahah. You look happy my man. Next vid you need to do is White Balance cause that's another bs that can throw many in a loop. Esp swapping out lenses and small changes in light shifts it around. Keep it warm or cool? Better cool like you.

Thanks Lok! Great insights. On my Fuji I’ve started experimenting with custom profiles based around fuji x weekly recipes (the more neutral, flat, desaturated ones). Esp. In controlled lighting situations. I think of it as shooting with a specific film stock. Less dynamic range, sure but also less hassle

I am sometimes confused with color correction in the camera "Olympus" because every lens need different color correction, I love to use old manual lenses. Do you have any recommendations about that? I don't like correct the color in a picture edit program if it's not a real really a picture I like.
