He said he was ok because he’s Christian mow. He took out the rosary he was wearing under his shirt and gladly ate. We’re lucky here in America that we have freedom of religion. Although flawed, because we’re not as tolerant to other religions such as Islam, we still respect their right to worship. @@mingzmings88 as an American I'll agree. Chinese out of all groups have the ability to live in any circumstance because Chinese eat bitter. That's why there's a Chinatown in every city of the world no matter how poor. Unfortunately when these Chinese reach the US they'll find it's no easier than back in China. The pay is high but the living expenses are higher. Many Americans have to live on credit debt just to get by. The Chinese couple in Monterey Park in this clip complained that the cost of groceries were so high but if the set foot outside the Chinese communities they'll find the regular supermarket prices are even higher. Like that one guy said maybe half go back to China. The rest will live lives of toil. In past generations the Chinese parents accept this in exchange for their children being well educated in the US and live an elevated life but in this new age that's no longer a guarantee as many American college graduates struggle to find good paying jobs upon graduation.
@alhkcblack96177 ай бұрын
@@mingzmings88 for you the US costs of living are not bad because it's similar to Singapore. San Francisco is a bit higher than SG but in Las Vegas Arizona Dallas it should be cheaper than SG. For mainland Chinese it's a different story like you said especially these migrant worker types who live in maybe 3rd tier Chinese cities US cities will be a price shock. Not sure what you mean target. target them for what? Not sure what you mean. I think lot of these illegal immigrants to the US left China mainly because they were sold a false hope by gangster human trafficking groups doing certain promotions to people in China who are in bad situations whatever those may be. As you can see from the show some of these people thought the streets were paved with gold still same as the Chinese who sold other Chinese the same stories hundreds of years ago to look for the gold mountain. In this episode where the one guy went to the immigration lawyer she said if he stays there's a chance that if he wants to stay he won't get a green card or permanent residency status and he can only have working rights and will report to the Chinese embassy. But there's a good chance the Chinese embassy wouldn't even give these people the papers to be able to return to China by plane. This means for many of these people the CCP views them as better for Chinese society to be rid of them for whatever reasons. China wouldn't even waste time to have them back to punish if that's what you mean.

You heard of anyone being prosecuted for doing that in their home countries? Please lah , don't be biased in your opinion. This phenomena of hordes of people entering a country illegally is only happening in USA , why? maybe it's because the current government really support it. They want illegal immigrants. They rather house them and feed them while they struggle with their own homeless citizen . Maybe if Singapore open its border like American do, thousands of illegal immigrants will flock to Singapore too.
After seeing the hardships of other groups , it feels the Chinese are jumping the line paying their way illegally entering the USA. They’re not running for hardships but believed in personally financial gain believed an unfortunate future of uncertainty!

Thank you for producing this authentic documentary. Those who still attempt to walk the line should really think twice. It is not worth their lives. No matter how hard they are in China, they still have second/third chances to improve their life quality.
and yet....thousands are doing just that. Actions > mere words. clearly, you have not come close to walking in their shoes, have you?

it's a quiet signification mark as CNA produce this knid of documentary, it's a mix feeling to watch this as a Chinese and more than that as a human. Duwei 杜唯and her team more than a journalist in this journey, pouring so much emotional and humanity into it. 人各有其志,志未必一定在西方,希望“润人”也能得偿所愿,找到自己的归宿。

As a Mexican American who his family migrated and did everything legally I have one thing to say I'm for migration just no illegal immigration. Can you Imagine buying entire Disneyland package with hotel and 5 days, but you see there is others who jump the gate and got their rooms for free and are able to cut in front of every line in the rides but you have to wait. Thats a small comparison of how it feels.

I come from a countryside, a small village in Vietnam, my family was poor, but luckily all of sublings and I had a chance to go to school, got educated & graduated (I'm very grateful for that and thankful to my parents), as somehow a similar bacckground, I can understand and feel the feeling of these people trying to change their life because the living condition they were not happy with. They wanted to give a chance to flip their life into a new page, totally new, I believe every decision we make in life is kinda the same since we also have a wish to be better, every single day. I just feel down that, as if they have accepted the truth that illegally migranting does not bring a new chapter in such a good way they were dreaming about, as if they had tried harder and harder at where they were and had believed in a good common things instead of illegal things. Peace, wisdom & freedom to all of them.

Their sponsors are in the USA which will facilitate them if they have entered the territory of the USA. What is the benefit of the sponsors is that they get permanent workers with low wages or workers without wages, they are only given a place to live and eat for free after that they are worked until they die, it is impossible for them to socialize with the people of the USA because they do not have official documents, they are imprisoned because they do not know that there is a crime against humanity, namely slavery, behind illegal immigrants there is human trafficking.

Come to this country legally, pay the immigration fee, set up an interview, and medical fee, and wait a long year to be granted a visa and no help from the government. But these people just cross the borders and get free healthcare, food, and a place to stay. This is so unfair and very disrespectful to those who come here and follow the proper way.

@@ryanlake9722 That’s one of the reasons why I’m against illegal immigration. People are putting their children in terrible situations, but did you ever think that the father decided that taking the chance of dying for freedom was better than dying at the hands of your own country? Just saying.

@@chopper5245 Based on my travel experiences, I don't think China is as terrifying as he says. I don't understand some of the criticisms directed at Chinese illegal immigrants. In my view, most of them are not criminals; they have lived quietly for decades and have taken the risk of coming to the US, hoping for a new life, even if that freedom might not fully exist.

The Chinese in the story clearly are pretty middle class and probably had a good life in China. Not sure why they choose to come to USA. I have been living in Monterey Park, CA, for three decades. It used to be a nice, quiet, clean, and peaceful city until it became a magnet for migrants. In this video, they complained about the cleanliness in Monterey Park. Guess who turned this beautiful city into a dump? I personally saw people disposing of food containers onto the street, even though the trash bin was only 50 feet away. Sad. Many Californians are moving to other states because of this.

The way those migrants look for jobs in US, are very similar to the way they tried to make a living in Singapore. They go night market place stalls, involve in sex trade etc. The manner they enter the country is more comfortable, via planes and social visit pass with relatives in Singapore. Some entered with work permit many years ago even after their permit expired. Last time, my neighbour told me that her friend rented out the portion of her shop to Chinese migrant without having proper paper work. The moment police comes, migrant ran away bought ticket fly back to China immediately. In the end, the landlord's son was sentenced to jail sentence cos the property is under her son's name. 😢
