Fashion friday is among the best cycling segments on the internet. Thats no joke. In days of old when print was king this would have been syndicated. Pure gold!

Fashion Friday is some of the best content out there. I think you are the only one doing this kind of content. Good work!

my top tip for a Fondo is, look like a manus, a bogdan, a pillock, nothing matching, the elastic in the knicks have gone, some really old shoes, wool socks, hairy legs and an old Giro helmet. Ride a 15kg bike, full mudguards, front sus, 35-40c wide tyres, glue an extra section of a 29er tyre onto the end of the rear mudguard, cantilever brakes, run pristine new bar tape any colour but not black or white, 7 speed, preferably Microshift or Sunrace, a 14-28 freewheel at the back; and smoke everyone! ;)

I may have a Gilet that is 24 sizes too big . And it might be Hi Viz :) OK, I was (a lot) heavier back a few years back and just learning. Can I be forgiven?

Problem with a base layer is you are stuck with it, no option to peel it off in case of overheating……..a gilet can be peeled while riding and tucked in a pocket, or just needs a 30” pit stop in case not so confident idling without hands. Try doing that with a base layer!

Cargo bibs “more room for your junk” I will assume that you are comparing Rapha Core Cargo bibs with your Rapha Pro Team bibs. Problem is Rapha target different body shapes/dimensions between their Core and Pro Team range. Ie a pro team range is aimed at on your pro or similar body shape, while the core range is target to your typical Rapha user aka MAMIL, so a medium Core will have more room for your junk than a medium Pro Team. So the typical Pro Team user may need to size down on the Core and maybe the Classic range. That is what I have found with Rapha. I own their cargo bibs in Brick, a now discontinued Red Brown colour way, as well as Pro Team and Core bibs in medium. Pedal Mafia cargo (in olive) and their pro team bibs are the same size. Cargo bibs are great for content creators, so their camera/phone is always easily accessible, but for your average Joe on a fondo, I would recommend more on bike storage, top tube bag, frame bag or even a handlebar bag, instead of using the side pockets of a cargo bibs as: 1 top tube bag or frame bag are more aero than side pockets of a cargo bibs. 2 each pedal stroke you are pushing weight and more air in the upstroke with loaded cargo bibs than regular bibs. I would also stress comfort in kit choice for fondo length bike rides. So I would never wear my Rapha Core kit on a 100km ride. But the Pro Team kit is a goto for 4 hour+ rides.
