I find A Knight's Tale to be sort of a rom-con but I loved the friendships more then the love interest and thought Kate was much cooler then Jocelyn. My favorite rom-con is Sleepless in Seattle, You've Got Mail, and Crazy Stupid Love. It's crazy to me because I think most "rom-coms" can exist within other genres of movies and those can or are marketed towards men but if you slap "rom-con" label on it suddenly it's a chick flick and men seem to abhor them on principle. Don't get me wrong I don't care for most of them myself because most are cliché or full of tropes as not much effort is usually put into them, I think for some reason studios think they don't have to put much effort into them. But there are so decent ones and some aren't even willing to give them a shot just cuz of the preconceived stigma. I had an ex-boyfriend who walked into me watching Little Women (1994 version), if I had asked him if he wanted to watch with me he would have protested in disgust so I was watching it in another room. He came into say something to me, I was only into the movie maybe 15 mins and he sat down watched the whole rest of the movie with me eyes glued to the screen. I was really surprised and at the end he said "that was a really good movie what's it called?" I said "Little Women" he said "Wait that's Little Women? I don't know why but that's not the movie I pictured in my mind when people talked about it. I thought it was going to be a bunch of chicks causing drama and stabbing each other in the back or something. Or they are all just desperate to land a husband or something. Not at all what I thought it was gonna be, I like the story and characters." He ended up joining me watching it the next year too as I use to watch it around Christmas time, kind of a little traditional of mine.

This was the movie I requested to "watch" while in the hospital. I had seen it so many times in less than a year (VHS tape) that I knew exactly what was happening based solely on sound, and English not being my native language. That's how much I loved it, and I still do. To me, this is THE teen movie. Another rom-com that I will never tire of, is Notting Hill.

I absolutely loved Heath Ledger and Joseph Gordon-Levitt's scene in this and wished they had more scenes together as well as like a big brother figure to JGL's character Cameron. I think Heath's character Patrick was always how he was toward the end of the film. He was just used to everyone spreading rumors about him and he basically didn't care kind of like Julia's character but he dealt with it with a different attitude. He was leaning into the rumors and pretending he was edgier until he started letting his guard down with Kat.

This is such a great movie...can't believe I forgot Allison Janney was in this! Equally great is the soundtrack. I have the DVD and the soundtrack CD. Was just listening to the music again just a few days ago. So, so good! Oh, the comment regarding not being able to get the original bands for the songs is way off. The cover songs are a feature not a bug. Letters To Cleo's covers of a couple Cheap Trick songs are amazing. As for the one line you didn't follow at the party early in the flick, Heath says, "I think you should do whatever you want to do." Julia replied with, "Well you are the only one that does," meaning that everyone else is trying to get her to be something she is not.

I might be a 6ft 6, rugby playing lump but i can still enjoy a good rom-com. My mum got me early with Notting Hill, Four Weddings & Serendipity (all great films). Whilst perhaps not in the same league as those, Wimbledon is pretty great & i was recently pretty much forced to watch Pretty Woman which was very decent. There's a reason Julia Roberts & Kate Beckinsale were & still are crushes for a lot of guys my age, myself included ha

My favorite RomCom is Wedding Singer. Such a good movie. That will change his mind.

at my High school we had nachos, baked potato, at the salad bar as part of the free lunch program. Hell we even had Subway and Dominos on Campus for the rich kids. I would not be surprised if Starbucks is on campus by now.
