The lady at the unemployment agency is Ann Meara, Ben's mother and legendary comedic actress. Ever since I was very young, I've had an appreciation for history instilled in me. To have history come to life like this movie would be a fantasy come true, especially being able to talk with the actual Teddy Roosevelt, a hero of mine.

Fun fact: Teddy actually 'walked off' an assassination attempt. Took a bullet to the chest but his speech, written on a crumpled paper in his jacket pocket, impeded the bullet. With the bullet fragment still in his chest and the bloodied speech in his hand he went on for over an hour before getting medical attention.

I loved this movie as a kid and last year I've decided to rewatch it and it still holds up, it's also fun because I've been to the real museum a few years ago. The inside looks nothing like the real NHM obviously, but the things inside are pretty similar, there are a lot of rooms filled with animal and wildlife dioramas and a life size blue whale hanging from the ceiling, it's a lot of fun

I'll just say this about the next night at the museum movie. it has the rare distinction of possessing a moment that put me on the floor from laughing so damn hard. Not many comedies get me laughing that much.

i believe this film was also the first to make meta-humor/dialogue mainstream. i remember when i first saw it and thinking, "the dialogue is just like actual people talking". one movie down 2 to go and i think the second is my favorite of the three just because of one character whom is one of my favorite historical figures not to mention a very good actor in everything i see them in.
