I did like a Ghetto Boyz song (I think?) that I heard from the movie "Office Space" called "Damn It Feels Good To Be A Gangster" or at least that's what I thought it was called. That movie hooked me up with at least a few great songs. If you haven't watched it you should totally check it out. So anyway, before watching your reaction just now, I had only just heard this song about 2yrs ago when I was brought to the topic: muppets gangster rap videos on YT by way of YT recommending "Too Many Puppets" - Primus (unofficial muppet video, I guess) which is insane, or at least solid proof that I'm insane or in the land of OZ (I AM in central KS, or at least that's what my delusions are telling me) So...catch! In my humble opinion one of the twenty five greatest songs in the history of hip hop storytelling at its peak...this song put geto boys on the map back in 91 (even thou grip it two years prior got 5 mics didn't have a song as big as this) RIP Bushwick bill and for the record scarface is the first and third verse Willie D second verse and bill last verse

This is MY personal Interpretation. I remember this track when It came out back in the days. Each Member presents a personification of the mental anguish and exhaust of life as a gangster, including dealing with symptoms of post-traumatic stress disorder, paranoia, suicidal ideation, and loneliness. Willie D - Suicidal ideation, post-traumatic stress disorder, loneliness Scarface - Paranoia, Bushwick Bill - Anxiety, PTSD, schizophrenia(seeing things and hitting ground thinking it was a certain mystical gangster) The Beat comes from Isaac Hayes's 'Hung Up on My Baby'

Yes!!!! The most articulate is most definitely Scarface, but Bushwick Bill's verse is definitely crazy! This is from the point of view of each member's issues with paranoia. My favorite part is "every day is more impossible to cope, I feel like I'm the on that's doing dope. Can't keep a steady hand because I'm nervous...every Sunday morning I'm in service, praying for forgiveness...." The beat is from Isaac Haye's "Hung Up On My Baby". Great reaction, man. This song is one of those that makes up the soundtrack to my life, man. I was just starting to be a little gang banger back in the day. Memories... Remember Pac's interview with Soren? A whole new sound was introduced (and the first time I’d seen a midget rap) If you’re loving this album, you would be wise to read J Prince’s autobiography The Art & Science of Respect. Honestly, it’s just one of those books that, from the very first minute, you’re invested and it holds you to the very end. Check it out!

Great reaction video to one of the greatest rap groups which is written and performed by one of the greatest rappers ever! The history of "Mind Playing Tricks on Me" is this is actually a Scarface song. He wrote it about his own paranoia. Back then, he suffered from manic depression (for real) so this song represented what he felt at the time. Scarface wrote the whole song except for Willie D's verse. But it was released as a Geto Boys song. That's why Scarface has 2 verses (1st and 3rd) and Bushwick's verse was also written by Scarface but performed by Bushwick Bill. Nobody writes for Willie D except Willie so verse 3 was all him. The result is one of the greatest hip-hop songs of all time - especially when played near or on Halloween. :)

Scarface , Willie D was 2 Rappers in Houston, Texas who was independent artists who made a little noise in the Hood. An ex street hustler turned businees Man named J Prince sought them out and told them he wanted them to join forces and become a Group. Bushwick Bill was a dancer and Willie D wrote a rap for him and told him to spit it. and then he became the 3rd member of the Group. Willie D and Bushwick never got along and always fought and argued . Bushwick recently died and never really patched things up. But they remained one of the most Iconic Rap Group of all times next to NWA with Cube and Dre. Add the Gheto Boyz songs to your list " I Tried " and "The Secret". You have great energy! This is definetly a hiphop classic, top 20 in my opinion. The whole song is about the mental stress, depression and paranoia that can come from being a drug dealing gangster (hence discouraging it). In that life you constantly have to worry about dangerous rivals, enemies, and police all coming after you, you become paranoid, not knowing who to trust, you become suspicious of everyone around you, and worry that every stranger you see, every shadow, might be someone coming to kill you. The last verse is about having full blown hallucinations, the guy he thought he was beating up wasn't real, he was beating the concrete, his friends weren't really there, and it wasn't even close to Halloween, it was all his mind playing tricks on him. 😄 For some more light-hearted music from Scarface, check out "My Block".
