This song was really ahead of its time. Admitting personal weaknesses like suicidal thoughts and being lonely are things most rap songs never did back then.

The more I swung, the more blood flew, then he disappeared and my boys disappeared too. Then I felt just like a feind, it wasn't even close to Halloween. It was dark as fuck on the streets, my hands were all bloody, from punching on the concrete. One one the dopest rhymes ever recorded. For some reason I feel emotional during that part. It's a man literally losing his mind to the paranoia of the street life... Some real shit.

Of every piece of media ever created, this is the one that I think accurately depicts what he described to me. @ARegularCommentator it's all subjective. But calling the 90s the golden age makes more sense than calling the decade that birthed hip-hop the golden age. There literally needs to be a presidence before an age can be called "golden". It needs a comparison and there was nothing that came before. Eh, that's my take anyway.

I was just listening to the Andrew Huberman interview with Rick Rubin where he was talking about being Geto Boy's producer... their haunting lyrical style and sound were a big deviation from established hip-hop at the time, a lot of people believe this is where the genre of horrorcore was born. This track is haunting to say the least, a dark look into the true nightmare of drug addiction.

I first heard this song when I was 17, deep in the throes of heroin addiction. July 24th this year makes six years clean from heroin. Now when I hear this song, it hits me a lot harder. I've wanted to end my life for a long time but now I have a wife and a son and just like the lyrics, if I die my son will be a bastard. This hits deep even if your not living like this. I had cops kicking my doors in, Narcotic Task Force had me number 3 on their list. And I was 17. But I made a lot hustling and I did it without selling poison. Hope this message reaches someone. It took me a long time to get where I'm at

As a kid, I remember my friends and I would always rap Bill's verse as it was the most memorable.
