The attitude that helps me in a first date is, “Let me see if I like him” vs. how can I get him to like me.

"Play this video before every date you go on." Every? I'm still trying to get ONE 😅
@SammieL808 жыл бұрын
aw don't say that. The way I see things is if I can manage to get a mans attention anyone can. :)
@ajh.41318 жыл бұрын
Well, I don't mean this in an arrogant way, but I know I can get a mans attention. Getting him to ask me out or show that I'm interested is the hard part. I tend to make things awkward around guys I like.
@SammieL808 жыл бұрын
AJ H. no you don't sound aggrogant. What do you mean by awkard? For me I have found that if a guy does not ask me out or show real interest quite early on they are prob not that interested I always found that guys like talking to me and if they don't take it to the next step they are just not that interested for whatever reason and sometimes it can have nothing to do with me it is just them and their issues but I am a very light hearted etc person so even though we are all different I have found that guys are pretty comfy around me from the get go.
@ajh.41318 жыл бұрын
I can be awkward because sometimes I'll stumble over my words or I'll lose my train of thought when I'm talking. When I like someone, I'll do the complete opposite of showing them that I'm interested. I won't talk much because I'm too nervous and afraid that I'll say something stupid. I'm just always overthinking and it's frustrating sometimes. You're right though. If they don't feel the same way, then it's best to move on. I feel like the guys I end up liking are too shy to say anything. I'm in the situation now but I really don't want to overthink it. I try to keep myself distracted. It's a little more complicated because it's a guy that I work with.
@SammieL808 жыл бұрын
don't think I can give you any advice but have you thought about taking acting lessons and trying to get out of your comfort zone and going with the flow more and seeing what happens. If a guy likes you he will like you for you. Relationships in the early stages especially should be easy not hard. If you feel like a guy is to shy to make a move ask them out and realise you may get rejected and give them a hint and see if they take it if they don't well like I said either take a risk and ask them out or move out. Personally I would never date someone I work with but whatever happens I hope things work out for you just go with your gut and do what is right for you. Life is short and you need to be happy but if you want my advice just go with the flow and see what happens a relationship especially in the early stages should be easy not hard.

My workmates call me "snowflake" because I felt a bit weak and fragile at a particular time and referred to myself as "just a snowflake" - it stuck. Your definition of snowflake is so much more empowering - I'm gonna own it, at work and in my dating life! Thanks Matt!

Thanks for that. Found it really helpful actually with my artwork. I'm trying so hard to get it absolutely right as I have not worked at it forever, it's actually not even enjoyable to do. Every snowflake is different and utterly beautiful. Going to start relaxing and having fun while learning... Just let it happen. With my essence to it. Much appreciated. Will apply to all I do. x

@@hanzpotterman5396 @NoDumbTheories @Pimlam oh I still remember lol it was a dumpster fire. The boy was a hockey player and he took me ice skating… I told him I was terrible but he still wanted to go. First- he lied about his age and was underaged, a junior in high school (was 17)…. Second- when it came time to pay he hesitated for what felt like hours so I told him i had no problem paying for myself and he just didn’t say anything back but threw his card up on the counter. Then i spent half the time falling on my butt and he only offered to help me up once and the rest of the time starred as I struggled… needless to say nothing happened after that lol.

Matthew, I love that concept. I completely agree, we should stop trying to make everything perfect. But here's my question...you have mentioned in a few of your previous videos that we should always be our authentic self, but what should a person do if the other person is not authentic? How can you convey the message to them without making it awkward?

@SammieL808 жыл бұрын
hey Rita I was single for a long time before I started dating for me it was the best thing I ever did cause I found my life improved whilst I healed from my past relationship. I lost a really good fuy because I was to scared at first to meet him. I do think in the back of my mind we will meet again but I have needed to let go of the situation and move on with my life. If you want my advice start talking to men either if it is just online or out and about and build your confidence back up and see where life takes you. A man who likes you will accept you for the person you are but maybe get to know them a wee bit before dating them and get comfy around them. Good luck with everything.

I think that finding a guy is really easy. I find it hard to see through the false depiction because people always come across as being something they are not. you are then in a relationship with someone completely the opposite of the person they had originally portrayed.

I remember going this 1st date with a guy and I could tell he put all this effect into it and it wasn't going to plan. i just said we are going to have the best first date story and he ask why as everything was going wrong. I said because know while it was on paper a dream it was the random imperfections that made it perfect and allowed me to see the type of man you are or we will have get story about how horrible it was. His mood change instantly and it was an amazing date even thought stuff kept going wrong.

Dear Matthew! I really need you (or anybody else) to give me an advice: There's a boy, I met three weeks before at a party. Next weekend he invided me to his house party and last week we met only the two of us. It was great even if both of us were a little shy. Since then we are texting and he aked me about my weekend. I told him I'm not sure, because I have to visit my grandparents. So we're texting like 😘 and I think we're both interested in each other. Is 😘 too much? And should I stop writing him for a day to keep him interested? I'm quite unsure about that. I don't want to show too much interest. Is that necessary after he told me a few times indirectly he really likes me? It would be more than great somebody answering me! (Oh I'm 16 and he's 19)

You are 16 my dear, you are young. If you are not "past the bloom of youth" (where sexual attraction is so strong) then feelings can easily develop. Take you time :) get to know him more. Remember that "Attraction" is base on what you see. "Infatuation" is base on what you feel. And "True Love" is base on what you know. Don't rush into relationship very quickly if you have doubt. You know I'm 28 and haven't dated anyone yet. Sounds boring but who cares. look there are a lot of fish in the ocean. I will just smile, soon they will be gone. hahaha

Matthew I so love your videos. I guess they are the only guide to all the women out there. Can you please tell me what should I do if my boyfriend abuses my parents for no specific reason? Although I have made it clear that he shouldn't do so and respect my parents but I still need guidance on how to prevent such a situation in future. I guess a lot of women must have a similar experience in their love lives. Thanks! And keep up the good work.
@SammieL808 жыл бұрын
we are all different but for me if my man did not treat my loved ones with respect and love I would kick him to the curb I don't want that bad energy in my life. If a man truly has respect for you then he will do as you say. Have your parents upset him cause maybe you need to talk to them as well. How long have you guys been together for. Sorry you are going through this.
@ShwetaSharma-fp8wo8 жыл бұрын
We are from different regions of India. My mom called him Southerner. Usually he's sweet to my parents but I guess he was overworked and stressed that night. He apologised after a few hours when I hung up and asked him to never call back because I would not tolerate such a behaviour. But even after the apology I am still not able to justify such an egregious behaviour for such a petty thing. We all have our share of problems and stress but it doesn't give either of us the right to disrespect anyone's parents.
@SammieL808 жыл бұрын
Shweta Sharma have you been dating him for a while? I guess you just need to see how it goes and see how you feel about things but if he learns a lesson from it that is all you can ask for right. Least you made it clear how you felt about things but you are right taking our stresses out on others shouldn't happen we all have probelms but i have noticed this in a lot of relationships people don't know how to handle their stress so take it out on others.Hope things work out for you and him
