Our special guest will be 38-year veteran FDNY Capt. Tom Gardner. He got on FDNY in 1984 and was assigned to Engine 255. In 1989 he transferred to Ladder 157. He was promoted to Lt in 1999. He covered in Div 6 and then Div 15 until getting the spot in Ladder 111 in 2002. He was promoted to captain in Nov 2004 and was assigned to Div 3. In 2005 took a detail to BOT. After a year he transferred back to Div 15 in Brooklyn. In 2009 he was assigned to Ladder 113. In 2014 he was detailed to SOC (Special Operations) and in 2018 became the first Capt. and charter member of Squad 8 in Staten Island. He finished up his career there until his retirement in July 2022. You don’t want to miss this one. Captain Tom is a true warrior. Phenomenal stories , better career. This man is what has made the fire service what it is. Thank you for sharing with us. Those of you watching that don't subscribe.. Then Capt. Fink, Brendan “Elf” Ielpi, Andy was Lt. on 255 first night, Richie was second night. Caught a few workers. Humbly honored to be able to spend time with Chief Pritchard. Amazing! Gentle smile, always calm. Chief Butch Brandes was great. Ended every radio transmission with “10-4 Thank you”. Would really love to sit down at their table again. Which is freakin awesome! It’s a section from a bowling alley lane. Great artwork by one of the brothers on 157. It was being finished and not in service just yet when we were there.
