I purchased a tone generator connect clamp 0n a wire send radio wave down the wire. Use tone tester to fine the open Orshorted point . Save hundreds on labor to repair wiring

Hey Chet, something to think about.... Maybe put a 3kW gen set on the new chem trailer? You could put a roof mounted (like what they use on RV's) AC unit on your canopy to give you a nice cool breeze while you're chem tending, and it's always handy to have a strong source of AC power for misc shenanigans.

Big Red is the best looking hauler in the fleet. Love the cabover design. Chet, trickle chargers or maintainers only should be used on fully charged batteries to maintain that full charge. Not intended to charge a depleted battery. Also make sure the charger is big enough for its intended use. There is almost a whole science to this issue.

If you get a new battery charger I highly recommend associated battery charger. But also you can get a 10000 amp Goodall Startall battery pack. That would start a stone dead semi.

great chem trailer just a suggestion since you travel on a lot of gravel roads install a mud flap in front of your 4 inch rubber pipe you will be glad you did that pipe is going too get a lot of abuse what do you think Chet

A buddy added mud flaps under his grain trailers to protect the traps. Keeps everything cleaner and protects the hydro cylinders.

The battery has to have a pretty good charge for the trickle charger to work. If your battery is actually frozen there's a chance it could "explode" putting a load starting or charging the battery. Seen that happen.

I would keep Big Red! For a 1965 He's in good condition. Did Great Grandpa buy it new or is it used, either way it's been taken care of. Good to see it warming up. We had a 73 internation cabover. Happy day when that piece of junk went down the road. You could not get through the gears without grinding. We had a bunch of super truckers and mechanics, not one made it. Truck broke a lot of pride through the years.

The Trickle Charger will mostly only keep a battery charged if there isn’t any draw from anything. They won’t charge them if they’re not charged. At least I think so.

Trickle chargers will maintain a fully charged battery but won't charge one. I have 5, car, truck, bike and 2 mower tractors. If a vehicle will set for more than a couple of days, the MAINTAINER goes on. Only use good automatic ones

Why don't you get some Thermo King APU they got heater and air conditioner they circulate your engine coolant to keep your motor warm and they keep your battery charged if you leave them in the standby mode and you'll never have a dead battery it'll be practical on the semi so you don't have to idle if you're stuck someplace cuz they go for about $12,000 of crack
