The things you learn on KZbin...I never heard of the Gina Curl!

@Mel Brown - Then if it’s just a Jheri curl, then black stylists should start doing them again to capture those coins.
@bumblebee40244 жыл бұрын
@Mel Brown - Well, stylists who do Jheri curls can certainly charge $75 per hour and recapture that market. If Gina is charging $600 for 8 hours = $75 an hour. If a Jheri curl takes 4 hour then $75 X 4 = $300. I’d rather pay $300 for 4 hours than $600 to spend 8 hrs getting a Gina curl - especially if it’s the same chemicals. And no matter how much other races specialize in black hair, I buy black as much as possible.

@@MiracleLSmith-bg4mi Its just a Jheri curl named after a white man who owned Jhirmack products in the 70's. He stole the idea from a black man name Willie Morrow. Way back in the late 80s early 90s my sister got a Leisure Curl and I got a Ferm by Avlon. Both gave the ’look of a relaxer, with the maintenance of a curl’. They were both great, at the time. The look was exactly like this. People actually thought I had a weave, they just couldn't believe it was my own hair. Ferm is no longer available to my knowledge. My point is, both then and with this Gina Curl, it's chemical manipulation of your natural curl pattern. It's the 'acceptable’ curl. It's your hair, and you do you, but in my opinion, it's just more of the same junk being pushed for type 4 hair, just rebranded and repackaged for 2021. 😒

GinaCurl ADVANTAGES -The client can switch from Gina's Straight Variation to a GinaCurl and back again. With the others, you can not. -GinaCurl will accelerate hair growth. -The others will be for one year. After one year, you will start to see thinning on the ends and more shedding. -There is no breakage with the GinaCurl. Because chemicals are not applied to the scalp. With the others, they do! -GinaCurl has an amazing aftercare program, easy to follow. The others do not. -The GinaCurl leaves textures in your hair. The others don’t -We can redo the GinaCurl if it doesn’t take, on the same day. With the others, you cannot! -With the GinaCurl all you need to style is a leave-in conditioner and a curl cream with the others you have to keep the hair wet with activators moisturizers -The GinaCurl is a dry Curl soft loose and natural looking. The others have to stay wet looking to avoid breakage. -You can wash your hair every day if you want. With the others, you can not. -You can roller set, rod set, sit under a hooded dryer, and change the curl pattern. With the others, you can not. -With a GinaCurl In two years the regrowth is the only hair that is chemically touched. During all your retouches, previously treated hair is never processed again. With the others, the hair has been processed 24 times at the end of two years. Once during the initial application, again on the perm rods, and don’t forget the hydrogen peroxide. There is no way to isolate the ends during all three applications.

Always sanitize after touching door handles if your a germ a phobe. Not throwing shade. It's just alot of people forget about door handles n then touch their phones.
@amandaday4 жыл бұрын
Hi Bonnie! It’s great advice. Don’t worry though... My door handle hand didn’t touch my phone lol and as soon as I got up the stairs I went to the bathroom and washed my hands. Haha I do this every day all day, girl. :)
@bonnie2804 жыл бұрын
@@amandaday I bout that key for the door handles so i don't have to touch them. All the virus needs is a second to enter your body and I don't want to take any chances of allowing it to even sit on my hands.

There are some judgmental comments in here. I am natural and struggle with my hair. I’ve tried so many hair stylists and they jack it up. I start over and still struggle. I’ve tried so many products, watched so many videos and no success. So, it’s just weird to judge people’s decisions when you don’t know the lengths they’ve gone through to rock their natural. #stillstruggling

Your hair looks amazing! Just a few questions, 1) How often do you need to repeat this? 2)What is the difference between this and a curly perm? 3)Is this something that can be done with dyed hair? Thank you for taking us along with you on this amazing journey!
@amandaday4 жыл бұрын
Thank so much for your kind words! 1) Typically, you get touch ups every 6 months. I think some people push it down to 5 though if they’re fiending lol 2) My understanding is that with a GinaCurl, during your touch ups they only process the new growth whereas with a curly perm, the already permed ends get chemical added to them over and over. 3) yes I have seen some do it with dyed hair! But based on what I’ve seen, results with that could be variable.

I am concerned that your hair will start breaking off, because you can't use protein on your hair with the Gina curl?
@mdhebert73454 жыл бұрын
Protein is drying and this is a harsh chemical process which includes several hours under a hot dryer, so protein will cause more breakage...

Sorry for the late reply! It has a smell that last for maybe a week but it’s not a bad chemically smell at all to me. It smells like a conditioner. I actually really like it lol

Old school days you didn’t wash your hair but maybe biweekly… mew school girls are washing daily, 3x a week, etc etc. is this what the stylist recommends to? Or is that just a habit left from natural hair care ? Seems like you’d over dry out curl or strip it if washed too much? Just curious about regimen

Hi Vaehina! Thanks for subscribing ❤️. Unfortunately you can not straighten your hair, at least not with heat. You can stretch it by doing a braid out or in other physical ways but direct heat (other than diffusing with a blow dryer) will permanently damage the curls.
