I'm surprised more people don't teach this concept. It lowers your stress around money exponentially...

I didn’t realize that I do this, but getting paid once a month, especially towards the end, definitely pushes you in to this lifestyle.

Smart...a lot of the time people are not broke just not liquid. I have money but not until the 15th. A month ahead helps you to stay liquid.

Great tips! I haven't used YNAB, but I do like the Mint and Personal Capital apps. They have helped me in working towards sticking to my budget. BUT, the hardest areas for me are food (I don't like to cook so we get takeout WAY too much!) and buying stuff for my kids (although I've gotten a lot better with that). Going to check out the rest of your channel now! Do you have any videos with more about side hustles?

I am starting a new job soon so my income will be higher. I will then build up my month ahead, then Emergency Fund and then other funds. My aim is to be self sufficient and debt free by beginning of 2024 (before I am 50!!)

I have never tried YNAB. I have always used pen and paper or excel spreadsheet. I think I will watch a few videos on using YNAB. Great video!

It’s the best budget app that I’ve ever used. You should do the free trial to see if you like it :)

So when you have all the money to pay your month's expenses do you just pay everything at the beginning of the month or you just pay it when it's due?
@WellBalancedWallet
@WellBalancedWallet 3 жыл бұрын
Great question! I pay everything on it’s due date because most of my bills are on autopay. I have a video coming up to show exactly how I budget each month.

I pay all my stuff as soon as i get my paycheck, most times itll be a week and a half before they are due, so that way if something does happen i have about 5-6 weeks until they are due again and id be able to hopefully figure something out if need be......but usually it just gives me some extra time of breathing room until the next time.
