Wow. You are fantastic! I absolutely adore how educated you are. You really have the true spirit of vintage style, not only a beautiful look but a breadth of historical knowledge. Thank you for this amazing content!!

Very helpful! I'm taking a slightly different route...I don't want to switch stylists now that I'm into vintage styles so he's learning with me. He's doing a great job with my U shaped Betty bangs. I think next time we'll also do the back in a U shape.

How would I go about finding out who I would most resemble..? Thank you for your videos. Very informative.
@MissBeeTownsend3 жыл бұрын
I would consider what kind of face shape you have (you can Google face shapes online) and then look at Golden Era actresses with your hair colour and face shape. I feel face shape is the most important in terms of cuts that suit people.

@@MissBeeTownsend BTW...I'm almost 60....Do you think there a cut off age for doing certain styles? I tried looking up older actresses but they all have young looking skin etc. Have you ever been asked about this? Curious what you think... Thank you again!
@MissBeeTownsend3 жыл бұрын
No I dont think there's a cut off age. Look up Nikki Redcliff if you haven't come across her. She looks amazing and still gets the same haircut as many other ladies of all different ages in the vintage community. A fabulous example that age is just a number! I think it's down to you feeling it's a cut you like and feel good in!

Would love to see more of your new situation in France! Vlogs? Will you being learning the language or already speak it? Very exciting! Do you know anyone in Brisbane? I'm searching on google and there are recommendations - it's a bit scary as my haircut is quite modern, I'd be going from a concave cut. Great vid x
@MissBeeTownsend8 жыл бұрын
jessfoster thanks for letting me know. I was thinking of doing this. I noticed there's not a lot of videos on vintage shopping and style in France. Or on vegan food and cruelty free products here. So I was thinking of doing vlogs and shopping/eating guides if people are interested...

jessfoster re Brisbane I have a couple of girlfriends from Brisbane who are into he vintage scene so I'll ask them and get back to you.

Still haven't had a cut :P I'm not really finding anything this way. I mean there are a couple places but I'm not sure their vintage extends beyond the style of service. Perhaps if I go to a modern place with a senior stylist and lots of pictures, I mean I was only thinking of getting a middy. At this stage thinking Epic Hair Designs. Hope you're having a lovely time :)

I second this! I'm sure KZbinrs get a bit tired of this question, but finding the perfect red lipsticks, in this case a darker red lipstick, can be quite a quest!

Do you think a long bob would work? I really dislike layers, especially if they're choppy, so... :/
@MissBeeTownsend7 жыл бұрын
Sorry, I only just saw this! Yes, it will have less body due to the lack of layers around the back-bottom and the face, but I have had a simple bob cut many times so I can do 60s chic (aka easy straightening iron hair) one day and 40s or 50s hair the next.

Hi Bee, I have really long hair, it reaches my tailbone (!) but I love to do vintage hairstlyes, pin curling etc. Will I be okay just to keep it this length and continue the styles? I do love it this length so much and don't think I would get it cut anytime soon! x
@MissBeeTownsend7 жыл бұрын
Hey Roma! Yes, you can definitely keep styling at that length. Or you can do what I did for the style in my channel header pic. My hair is down to the middle of my back in that picture. I just have a large scoop cut into the back and layering through the bottom and around my face. Then I can get great s-waves but keep the length. x
@romaobrien65687 жыл бұрын
Ah yes I see what you mean! It's really lovely! Maybe one day I'll pluck up the courage but not right now ;) my hair holds a curl pretty well as is so I guess I'm lucky. Thanks so much for the advice and keep up the amazing videos, you are one of my style icons!! x

This might be a stupid question, but are there any vintage hairstyles that a stylists can make just fall that way with little effort? I'm not very good with styling my hair no matter how many videos I watch, but I'm inlove with 1940s-60s hairstyles.
@MissBeeTownsend4 жыл бұрын
Check out the styles of Jane Birkin, Jean Seberg and Anna Karina. The 60s had more natural styles that are more about the cut than the styling. Also, don't forget that slicked back buns and ponytails were hugely popular in the 50s. Very quick and easy and totally authentic. Hope that helps xx

@MissBeeTownsend6 жыл бұрын
No one in particular as I didn’t get a vintage cut whilst I lived there. I’d just call and ask them if they’ll follow a pattern. There’s a place in Montmartre near Lamarck-Coulaincourt that has a life-size cut out of Marilyn in the window, so that might be a good sign!
