I love how independent and free you are. Your vlogs are always enjoyable even when you struggle with something. Where is your little mouse? Keep living with nature and enjoy every moment because you never know what might happen. I loved being alone in the mountains of British Columbia years ago...so peaceful and serene. Now I'm 77, had too many surgeries, and only memories. Keep going young lady. Hugs from an old man in Utah.

You are so right. At "52," I was in three accidents. I've been in pain 24/7 for 24 years now. We don't plan on being physically hurt and unable to do simple things. So, you go girl. I'm so happy when I see young people living their dream. I'm wishing you well Robert.

Love your videos Hannah, that hammock looks cool. Little suggestion, be careful with wet rocks in fires, seen them explode before, a friend took some shrapnel to his face, nearly got him in the eye

river rocks (any rock near water source) can be dangerous, any moisture trapped in a rock will make the cracks expand when heated and so the rock cracks and explodes

Probably a good job you gave up on that 2nd fire. If you use wet rocks / river rocks around a fire they can splinter / explode as trapped water turns to steam . Always use dry rocks when poss or at least not heat wet rocks quickly. Lovely vid as always Hannah

You picked such a perfect day for kayaking, and your campsite looks so peaceful and beautifully remote. Maybe hiring some extra help for your store could ease some of your responsibilities and free up more time for you to relax and enjoy moments like this, just like in the good old days. You truly deserve more of those carefree adventures! 🥂

Never underestimate the good memories derived from backyard camping, some of my happiest moments in life were those of my cousins and myself camping in the grandparents back yard. And I have done the same for my nieces and nephews. And it is a whole lot more convenient when you have 3-8 little people to keep an eye on. It might be considered "glamping" but I chose to frame it as a safer way to introduce them into the skills needed for camping later on. like how to set up a fire ring, and gathering branches and setting up a tent, etc. and that they can have fun w/o a screen in their face. I figure if that is the first thing they ask when they walk in the door where I am going to babysit for a weekend "Aunt De? Can we camp again?" then, well, it's a good thing. Be well and safe all who read this. Live happy.

Girl you are costing me MONEY! After being on my bucket list for years and years you inspired me to finally build my "Walter" RV. (2015 Ford Transit extended length that I had the roof cut off and raised 12" to accommodate my 6'-2" height). And I've been a kayaker for 20+ years but now I want an Oru folding kayak. (Anyone in the market for two well taken care of 14' sit-in kayaks?) Now I'm jealous of that hammock! Sooo much better than the one I have that kills my back. I'm going to have to stop watching your vids; I'm buying too much stuff! 😂

Info from when I went to survival school, is you never pull rocks from the water to build a fire ring. The rock has water in it and when the heat from the fire heats up the rock the water turns to steam and can make the rock can explode.

That owl is so interesting - I know they exist everywhere, and I'm always impressed when they silently swoop past, but then I can never see where they went to. Same with other animals like hawks, etc. There's an Osprey nest at the Lake Murray walking path and I can clearly see the Ospreys, but I'm always impressed and amazed that they're there, even though the nest is built on a man-made platform located in a power line support structure, so it's always there and the Ospreys always nest there every year. In Spring Valley, it's rural-urban so there are some wild animals, mostly coyotes, skunks, opossums, but a hawk will come near and the crows surround them, but it happens so rarely that I always want to watch the hawk with binoculars ... somehow they sense my prying eyes and this spooks them. The crows follow, dive-bombing the hawk as it tries to gain altitude. It feels so pointless, like I'm half-heartedly trying to pursue some contact with Nature that will be fruitful somehow, but I also know I will only ever take the photos and paint the paintings of the animals. It leaves me feeling like Nature is a false, fleeting illusion. Maybe I need an abundance of exposure to these creatures that surround us and make up an integral part of our ecosystem. Google, painting and sculpting them, I guess. They all intrigue me, every single one, except maybe those Potato Bugs... and Ants are kind of boring.
