After a week of sending items off to auction, I need to get the store back in order! another busy day and some friends pop in for a visit.

My introduction to Alex and Curiosity Inc, was Alex running out of gas driving to the Potter's House for the first time!

So bad to run your car below a quarter of a tank although his are older antiques and possibly have a separate fuel pump modern-day cars the pump is in the gas tank and you need to keep a quarter of a tank of gas so that the gas pump stays covered that's what keeps it cool running below a quarter of a tank ends up burning out the fuel pump and if you don't replace the whole tank with a new one it most likely will never work properly again the aftermarket when they install down the pipe where you re-fuel never works right and also affects your gas gauge

It has been a damn cold week here in Lapland Finland too. I went for an evening walk with my dogs and it was -29 and with wind that made it feel like -36, found a calculator from internet for that. But I just put on some extra layer of woolen clothes and of we went. A little bit of frost doesn’t scare us who live near The Arctic Circle.

This just shows what an awesome shop this is. With the new addition of a cafe people will go from miles around just to see and be a part of it. A shop that sells beautiful handmade soap, antiques, guitars, jewellery with the smell of freshly ground coffee wafting through from the new addition it's going to be amazing. If you have joined the family recently go back through old episodes and you will see A. what an amazing family this is and B. that Alex didn't win the lottery he worked his butt off for this success.

They are very nice...they should be....they got 25% of the sales plus an additional 15% from the buyers/buyers premium. I am an auction novice but this seems like an extra gimme. I know it's common but it still don't understand it. Bottom line is they're happy because they did quite well.

Just for fun I went back in your list of videos to see roughly what date I started following your channel. I have it narrowed down to around Sept 18, 2018. The last video of the airstream being polished. I thought it was the start of The Potter’s house, but it turns out you captured my attention earlier then that. So...you’ve come along way!! I have spent a total of two weeks in Canada. I had carted my Snowboard all the way from Japan to Calgary, only to find out it was too cold for the ski resorts. Who has ever heard of a ski resort shutting down because it's too cold???

That replica candlestick phone brought back some memories. I had a black version of that phone in my late teens (I loved antiques even then). An oddity about it was that the "ringer" was actually an unpleasant sound and it would tick quite loudly if someone dialed the rotary phone downstairs in the kitchen. It was a really annoying sound with the number of ticks corresponding to each number. In our town, you dialed 1-1-9 for a time and temperature recording. To wake me up for school in the morning, my Mom would slowly dial that number downstairs to get me moving. I would hear CLICK!..........CLICK!..... and I would leap out of bed and across the room to pick up the receiver so I didn't have to hear her dial that gawdaweful 9. LOL.

oh these hardy Canadians ! they leave the cars outside, with NO gas and they still start. I'm in the midwest U.S. , and have had pipes freeze so if we get a real blast of cold , I leave one faucet ( farthest from the basement) dripping so water is moving thru the system--have any of you guys done this too ?

My dad always told me in below freezing temps always keep your gas above the halfway mark so your gas lines won't freeze in the car, whether its true or not its one of the reasons I am never running on empty in the winter....so happy to live in Essex County Ontario we never get in the minus digits lol.

Surprisingly those coins are more popular then you would think. Definitely need them graded and properly stored, those 2x2 card holders are the most basic way to save coins, there are better sleeves without staples. Never handle the coins with bare hands, the oils from our skin even your breath can tarnish a coin, give them the cotton glove treatment! Do not let them drop on the edges that will devalue a coin instantly, Those coins reflect the ruler at that time in history, and they where changing all the time. Perhaps contact the Royal Alberta museum and a curator might be able to help. Good luck!

Hey Alex. I just watched a film with Johnny Cash in it I have never seen before. It is called " A Gunfight " ( 1971 ). The film co stars Kirk Douglas. Johnny Cash plays an aging gunfighter who plans with another gunfighter, Kirk Douglas, to have the first Pay For Play gunfight, winner takes all. It is FREE to watch here on KZbin. It was not a big budget film but I think it was quite good. Cash plays his role in a very understated way. By the way Johnny will be the gunfighter dressed all in black. Johnny Cash wrote and sings the song during the opening credits.

Sorry I couldn't get more technical. I too always run my car down to 20 miles left to go. But I bet that car is a beast on gas milage though it is too cool for school. Enjoying your channel!
