I have been following your diesel channel for a while. I know you love the Audi TDI variants. I was looking into a used 2014 BMW 535D with 30k on them. What is your take on this BMW I6 diesel? Seems like BMW has the highest cost of ownership but what about the diesel line of theirs? Just looking for some of your expert insight.

+Chris Frazier You should look at how the engines are setup for DIY oil changes first. Then you should look at maintenance intervals to determine what sort of routine maintenance is required, and how easy it would be to DIY a fuel filter change. Fuel filters are too messy for my garage, so I pay $120 for the job at my Audi dealer. The ZF8 is probably going to outlast everything else on the car, so pay attention to brake pad and rotor costs, and try to find how long they typically last. If you find easy DIY and inexpensive yet long-duty brake components, it really comes down to how well the car drives. BMW has excellent seats.
