That new top is cute! I believe you can have an EV charge port fitted to vans now, so you can recharge your batteries at the EV charging stations like the Tesla’s and other EVs use. They’re very quick I believe. Of use the puppy dog eyes on Chrome and see if he’ll put a ship-to-shore charge port on his van exterior so that you can plug into his van and he can share his power with you when you camp together. 😉👍

My kitty, who looks a lot like your Kelly ( Iris, is "tortoise shell", so the pattern is different, she but has the same colors), she ignored the bird sounds but...the "knocking" got her attention. So funny & fun! Thx for sharing. Stay warm. It was minus 5 degrees Fahrenheit, night before last here in Colorado. Fortunately, my woodstove got fixed that evening previous! My primary heat source. My open living/kitchen room with high ceiling was 36 degree F, inside with 10 F, outside at 6pm, while the stove was being fixed. I was SO grateful for the heat again & just in time! So i REALLY feel ya regarding the cold! I don't know how you did it without a heater for so long Emi❣ Well, actually i do know. We do what we must, til we have other options. I get that. Been there, had to do that too. I just really respect the struggles you've been through & the lovely life you now have. A life that you worked darn hard to create for yourself. Hats off to you womankind! 👏💖

Hello and Merry Christmas I watched a you tube video recently by Will Prowse. He did an electrical setup for a person with exactly your situation. He hooked up a diesel generator (diesel van) into the system. I don't know how it is hooked up, but when the batteries reached a certain low, the generator automatically started to charge the batteries. It wasn't a large generator, and would charge them quicker and cheaper than driving. It was an Onan generator, which they use in larger motor homes. This isn't a new concept, as I have seen older motor homes with it, but it was always push button. You can always have a separate tank or plumb it into your main (obviously for gas). Hope you can get some down time from you tube to enjoy.

Hi Emi ...solar may be useful if you are stationary for a long period but for a van is probably not cost effective ..a rapid charging system from your vehicle is likely more effective if DESIGNED by someone who has the knowledge to do it safely..lithium batteries can overload the normal car alternator if not done the right way..best wishes from sunny South Australia..
