I love that at Christmas in Australia, we decorate with fake snow. Like, Christmas is in summer, and where I live the last time it snowed was in the 50s (and in winter). We also promote cozy things like hot chocolate and warm scarves and gathering round a fire. Like, some years it's over 30 degrees on Christmas day and there are fire bans, but ads will still show people being cozy around a fire. On a side note, I find it interesting that in Australia, the snow is a destination. Like, you might go to The Snow for a holiday in winter. Even down south in Australia, there aren't a lot of places that get snow; you have to go to the mountains where there are skii resorts. The skii resorts are only open for at most a couple of months in the winter, and some years they don't even get enough snow to skii on. Like, it'll just be slush

several things to note: 1. i ate a gingerbread man while watching and it was a very immersive christmas experience. 2. as a native Florida person (unfortunately), i have had many “hot christmases” and i would enjoy not having a year round season of “hot” 3. i like to think of santa as a cryptid.

I've always thought it looked like fun to make a gingerbread house but I've never had the opportunity to. Fuji opening her present reminded me of my old rabbit opening his on Christmas morning one year, although he scratched at the wrapper, flung the present across his hutch by his teeth, then ignored it and jumped out to the garden lol. Pj, this is Brighton. You can literally have a BBQ at the beach in the middle of winter and no one would bat an eye. Would you freeze to death? Yes. Would it be uncomfortable? Yes. But you can. I literally saw an old man running into the sea by the pier a few days after xmas eve in nothing but a single pair of underwear. Oh, and if you do decide to have a BBQ party at the beach, please invite me. Also, seeing the weather these days, having a BBQ in June will be just as weird as having one in December. Weird times.
