Thank you so much for sharing. I can relate to those cycles of being super fit and than falling back to bad habits. But here I am again, running is going well, my motivation is stronger. Never give up😊❤

Yeah I think we just need to recognise that it's a natural part of the process. The hope is that each time we drop down, it isn't right back to square one! Good luck with your chosen cardio.🏃

I struggle a lot with motivation. I will get into a routine and then my health takes a dive and I end up set back. Getting back into it again is so difficult. Videos like this really help ❤

That’s the key thing to realise with exercise. It’s a lifelong journey of ascent and descent. You climb part way up, then get knocked back down again, so you begin the process again. The hope is that the knock backs aren’t as severe each time, but like my recent surgery showed, sometimes you have to begin right from square one again. 🤷♂️

Kudos to you ...............Seem to have a lot of gumption ! Sounds like you are doing much better after all the punishment your body has been through. Keep up the good work ! I know first hand what recovery after major surgery is all about. It is a long hard road.

Thank you William I really appreciate that! 😁 I get knocked down but I get up again…sounds like it could make a good song lyric!

Hi Geoff, so pleased to see how much you’re able to achieve on your gym equipment etc. you’ll get a laugh out of this but my grandson bought me a couple of 1kg dumbbells today. You’re aware of my situation so I think this will be a start and see where it leads me. “Baby steps” is about all I can manage. Best wishes for the Christmas season, look forward to more from you in the new year.

Thanks Renate! I truly believe anyone can improve their health - no matter how low the starting point - as I've been to rock bottom several times myself. This time next year you'll be throwing those dumbbells arounds like Brian Shaw. Have a good one!🤣

Thank you, I've been pretty discouraged but you've convinced me to start real slow with the exercises I need to do. I wasn't feeling well a few years ago then I was diagnosed with IBS, then I had a pulmonary embolism then emphasema then 11 fractures in my spine and osteoporosis, now I'm gaining weight, it's overwhelming and since none are curable it seems pointless to do anything. So just waking up is success right now. I went from never seeing a doctor to having a collection of specialists. I was always outside camping hiking gardening walking never sitting down, never sick, I even work standing up. I've only been out for medical appointments or hospitalizations in the past 3 years and I sit and stare at the walls, so I started ordering houseplants that I could take care of, even making meals is hard now and never knowing what I can eat. Really hard to accept this new reality, and my son moved out a few months ago, it's so quiet here now.

If it's helped even a tiny bit then it's been worth the full week it took to make this video! It sounds like you've been through (are STILL going through) absolute hell. Makes my health troubles seem minor by comparison. But...I can claim to have known more than my fair share of severe pain, and to have been barely able to move through lack of food over a period of time - the very definition of starvation - so I know what it's like to start from rock bottom. It can be done. You put a plan into place and you begin with the first tiny step. Good luck!

@@Grow_Up_Man55 thank you, I wasn't going to watch at first because it was about exercise and I was doing a fine job of burying my head in the sand and ignoring what I was supposed to be doing. And usually it's people doing impossible things and the bar is so low for me right now, if I bend down I'm not sure I'll make it back up, so doing backflips while juggling hanging from a trapeze isn't on the books. It's the mental adjustment that's really hard, I've always done everything myself and asking for help doesn't come easily and people say yes then never show up or forget. So I'll start doing the exercises, one day at a time, merry Christmas to you and your family and thank you for the plant videos I've enjoyed them immensely.

Sounds like you’d benefit from professional help - like a physio. You need exercises that are safe for you and focus on the functional. You can turn things around if you’re motivated to do it. 😁🤞x

@@Grow_Up_Man55 I just hung up from having this argument with a nurse, I did rehab it was not a good experience they had a huge COVID outbreak while I was there and most exercises I couldn't do because of my back even with the morphine. Before that a physiotherapist jumped on my back and cracked a rib and another one used his tens machine with the electrical currents and gave me irregular heartbeats, and hurt me so much I was crying, I'm done with physio therapists.

Like in all walks of life there are good ones and bad ones unfortunately. I hope you manage to find someone who knows what they’re doing.

Thanks for this. Great to see how you have improved over the last year!! Great tip about improving the abdominal muscles post surgery and the benefits to improving back pain. 👍🏾

Pleasure! Yeah back pain has been my biggest obstacle this last year post surgery. Only by doing lower back and abs work has it regained it's former strength. It's a slow process though and can't be rushed.

I think that soft drinks( colas etc) are toxic…and also no smoking and moderate alcohol.I have tried to eliminate unnecessary sugar.
@Grow_Up_Man5511 ай бұрын
The obvious downside is that you’re drinking lots of calories without it satiating your hunger. If it puts you in a calorie surplus then it’s easy to gain weight drinking them.

I might have subscribed to a second channel, or certainly given it a shot. But knowing that there's going to be a hard pivot to a much broader scope on just one channel, I'll have to take my leave. I wish you the best.
