Hi Geoff. That Dendrobium is definitely jaw dropping as are the pelligoniums. I’m really enjoying your begonia collection too. Orange orchids have to be my favourite, but anything blooming appeals to me.

You see, I've never exaggerated in my life! (See what I did there??🤣) Glad you liked them, Renate. It always seems to be the case that the best stuff comes out just AFTER I've made a video!

Things are looking good there Geoff! Those orange orchid flowers are AMAZING! And the that Dendrobium is WOW! I hope your streps make it, they are such great plants. Every since I moved mine under lights they are doing MUCH better. Trying to propagate that Falling Stars right now. LOVE that variety! I'm also getting back into pelargoniums again. I got a few regals recently and am about to order a zonal I think later today. Glad to see your posting more gardening videos!

Thanks Tom! I really need to replace the two Mars Hydro lights that recently died on me, that in itself might help the Streps but currently funds don’t allow. Glad to hear you’re back into the Pellies. There are so many unusual varieties from specialist growers you’ll be spoilt for choice. It’s worth a look at Fibrex website, as although they probably don’t ship to the US, You can see what options there are.

@@Grow_Up_Man55 Hi Geoff, I just ordered a Velma Cox pellie. Great foliage! I wish we had a Fibrex and Dibley's in the U.S.

Yellow can be a cold colour in flowers I find but the egg-yolk coloured flowers of that dendrobium is beautiful and warm. (PS: stop fiddling with your begonias 😁)
@Grow_Up_Man558 ай бұрын
Yeah there are a number Debdrobiums with 'egg yolk' centres I like - I forget the names - but I've been on the lookout for a number of years. The only downside is the length of time you might wait to get the blooms - but of course then the satisfaction is all the sweeter. (I only seem to break plants on video!🤣)

Isnt the pollen and stigma different on the 2 pelagoniums? Not sure, could just be a wrong label 😅
@Grow_Up_Man558 ай бұрын
I looked on Fibrex website and they still look the same to me. I’ve messaged them to see what they have to say about it. 🤷♂️🤣

@@Grow_Up_Man55 yea its stupid how some cultivars looks almost the same...😂😭

@@Grow_Up_Man55 I can't tell for sure in the video but I think the leaves are a little different.

I was hoping my thyrsiflorum would finally bloom this year, but no. Maybe next year. I am convinced griffithianum will never bloom. I bought it as a seedling 5 years ago and it has hardly grown. It grows new canes every year, they just don't get much bigger, it still looks like a seedling.
@Grow_Up_Man558 ай бұрын
My thyrsiflorum actually has some buds for the first time - but they're so pathetic looking I'm not bothering to show anyone - unless they want a good laugh that is!
@michaelmccarthy40777 ай бұрын
@@Grow_Up_Man55 well, I'm a liar. That tiny little griffithianum is putting out a flower spike. It shouldn't be, but I noticed it today.

@@michaelmccarthy4077 Great news! My thyrsiflorum isn't all that bad after all - small but better than nowt! (As we say round these parts.)
