As a member of the 82nd Airborne Division who graduated jump school in Jan 1987...You PUNCH the wings in, you do not slap....Our instructors knocked us off our feet.

@Scott.Kristiansen ..Thank you for your service 🇺🇸 Yes- I remember! But this vid was in 2012, (25 years after you), and by this time, the DOD had restricted (and put a halt to) “punching them in”. Every graduate WANTS them punched in- the scars from the pins mean something to our Airborne guys! And even though we were told strictly to NOT do that.. our guys still wanted those pins in their chest. These guys were NOT happy that they couldn’t get them “punched in” like the other graduates before them..

Took it like a champ; didn't budge and made no sound at all. If that were me, I would at the very least have yelled "damn".

Bruh, my old highschool mate got his wings punched into him

At the time of this video, the DOD had stopped people from doing the hard punches- which ALL the guys wanted that were getting their “blood” wings.

I got mine back in 1996 at ft Campbell. I lived right across the street from air assault school. The graduates from my battalion all lined up and people from battalion and companies came thru and slammed our chests. The key is dont pull them out or you'll end up with a bunch of holes in chest

Do you have to do it? Is it a choice?
@daechang3955 Жыл бұрын
@@zappierrocket9732 I believe it is now.

Dept of Defense frowns upon this now from what I understand. People used to punch it hard- but it doesn’t have to be punched! The pins are long and will stick into the chest without huge force. It is definitely a choice (DOD may not even allow it anymore? Not sure)…

In the marines they are way too hard core.
