Alain it is possible. I don’t have a degree and had no experience when I got into HR. So far I’ve been in for five years and have worked for large corporate companies like UPS, SuperValu, Travelers, US Bank and many others. I currently make the rate of someone with a masters degree. My advice is to utilize staffing agencies. My first HR job was secured by my introducing myself to the HR Specialist for company that I was working fit at the time. I came in as an office coordinator and asked her to teach me things. She did and three months later she left the company and urged me to apply. I did and got the job. I was blessed because I had the opportunity to do full cycle HR. It was helpful, even to this day as I move through my HR journey ❤️ I love it!

I transitioned my career into HR years after getting my bachelor. I was tired of the same oI admin job. I got a cert in HR (through a school program, not the individual study carts organization). After getting I spoke to everyone I met in my company and said Hello I’m trying to get into HR what do I need to do is any position hiring in any department. Lol. I just stumbled on your videos for the second times, and thank you for sharing. I have an AS of science, and a BA in Business Administration. I recently completed some soft skills online training, and I also did some training for HR Management online. At this point, I was gearing toward HR because naturally speaking, I feel I have the HR skills to succeed in the role, and I want to make an impact in other's lives in that level. I want to represent the company I work for very well as well the employees I represent, where they would feel comfortable talking to me about the issues they're having at work: To use, and apply the law to serve my company, and my employees to the best of my ability. I was working at a place, I remembered having a wonderful HR. I said to myself, if I ever get into HR, this is the person I would want emulate. I would want my employees to find in me what I couldn't find in my HRs.

I am trying to transition into HR. I am graduating with a B.A. in Psychology in September and am enrolled in the M.S. for HRM starting in October at my school. I’m transitioning from customer service/operations, and I’m finding it extremely difficult. Once I realized I wasn’t having any luck with HR Assistant or Coordinator positions, I have began applying for internships with little luck as most of them either want someone with some experience or education in HRM. I did take a few courses as electives, and I do mention this on my resume, but, since I am looking at remote work, these positions are already highly competitive and I’m just not matching up to the competition yet. Hopefully I can get an internship or volunteer experience under my belt soon. I think that will really help. I’m staying hopeful! I was responsible for some HR functions in my previous positions, particularly recruiting, so I’m looking into TA as an entry into the field as well. Love your videos! Thank you for your tips. 😊

Hey. I am currently trying my best to transition into HR from education (Interpreter) and working in retail. I’m struggling. I also recently obtain an HR certification from the local community college but when applying for HR entry level jobs I was told I need to have a HRIS certification. Help
@HRGirl411
@HRGirl411 2 жыл бұрын
An HRIS certification is for those who are in the technology space within HR. It's not for entry level roles. It is important however to determine which aspect of HR you're interested in pursuing. Otherwise you will find yourself applying for jobs that are not in alignment with your goals. Have you tried networking?

Yes I have and everyone has told me about HR systems or a certification. I did the HR certification at the local community college. I guess that wasn’t enough. I just need a company to give me a chance. Or everyone is telling my to go into recruiting but how??? I won’t give up. This is all new

I have 1.5yr left to get HR degree but i cant find anyone who would consider my resume just as entry level HR. I work for the state and have only.worked in acct as account para pro. But my previous jobs have been in social sevices-management and still nothing😒

Interesting because social services management has similarities with HR. Focus on those transferable skills and add those to your resume.

I am considering getting into HR. I have no education in it. I have owned my own business for 20+ years; I had subcontractors. I worked as a manager for one office for a very short while, and was told I did an excellent job. I am VERY green in getting started and need guidance breaking into the HR field. :/ HELP!!
@HRGirl411

Thanks for commenting. You can pivot from where you are now. I would recommend networking with other decision makers to see if they have an HR role available within their organization. Managing subcontractors, is still management and HR in so many aspects. You have the experience and the skills already.

I actually acquired my Master's in HR without any practical experience in the field and did very well. I would say that my work/life experiences aided me in completing the program and would venture to say my transferrable skills would further assist me in being successful in the industry. However, I am having the hardest time getting a job in the field, due to lack of experience - you know that dreaded cycle of needing experience but not getting experience if no one will hire you.

Same thing going on with me, just graduated with my bachelor in HR management, I’ve Jenn cna this whole time so I have no experience as a HR and it seems like no one wants to hire due to the no experience in the field. I’m like just hire and teach me I’m willing to learn as much as possible and I would gain the experience.

Hello, it is possible for you to work as an assistant in the HR department while you are in school It's a matter of finding a company who is open to hiring individuals who are currently in school. Networking would be your first step.

You can apply for HR Admin, or Generalist positions for starts. The titles for these roles will vary, but you can search for Administrator or Assistant. There are a lot of people who enjoy recruiting, so you can also consider those roles as well.
