Well done, Eva. Tumā was definitely curious about you and I found her to be so endearing. What wonderful life lessons you learned from the Matis. You now have a permanent reminder of the time you spent with the Matis . You're truly inspiring and I always knew you craved adventure, but you have shown how adaptable you are. Thank you Nat Geo and thank you Eva. I really enjoyed Superskilled and I look forward to seeing the next (and last😢) episode.

Fifty years ago, someone getting a tattoo at all--let alone from an indigenous tribe--would have been considered brave indeed--not to mention outlandish. Eva is already covered with tattoos, however, so for her to refuse would have been rude. I commend her for acquiescing to her hosts' desire to mark her for life. It's a sign of her true integrity and of her abandonment of the false expectations our society used to impose on everyone, but most especially on women. Bravo, Eva!

I was there in 1968, a wonderful town and the Greek brothers running the zoo, I floated up the Amazon , to islands and villages , I watched piranhas and crocodile hunting in the night on dug out canoes, giant Lily pads, and the Tarpon Zoo brothers, memories never to be forgotten, I lived in Bogota for 8 years, Colombia, a wonderful Country ,confronting your fears a belief of the primitive people inside ourselves, as spiritual person , nothing else matters, this is an amazing experience in the 21st century, me I'm old and have such great memories of Leticia and the Amazon river, thanks National Geographic, but the photographers were always with you, never alone, recalibrate your own compass, :), I learnt so much at the age of 17, still with me, the elder always knew where you were, :)

Who would think that there would be a traffic jam on the Amazon River! This is a terrific video that shows us how there are still a few courageous humans who live in harmony with nature with no need of modern tools. Those drone shots helped us to see a wider perspective of a land that most of us consider mysterious. It was so very sad to learn that many of the Matis died after making contact with modern humans, but I’m happy that some survived to carry on their legacy. I knew you were brave, Eva, but those painful ordeals you suffered in the jungle proves that you are truly brave! I think you should have the nickname Jane (Tarzan’s female companion).
