I just finished the video and I’m crying:( I don’t really know how to put into words how much you help me on a daily basis and it actually saddens me to think that you don’t know who I am because you mean so much to me💛 You’ve inspired me to do well in school and just be generally more positive and that’s impacted on my life immensely- I’m doing amazing at school, I’m closer with my family and I’m beginning to treasure every second of everyday. Thank you. There are four people who I can pin point for changing my life for the better- my old french teacher, my current English teacher, Madelaine Petsch, and you. Collectively, you’ve made me who I am today- a happy 14 year old who loves school, her family, friends and is making the most of every moment. I hope you read this comment and it makes you realise how much you mean to me despite the fact that you’ve never met me (it’s honestly one of my biggest dreams to meet you sksksk). Thank you Brittany, you mean so much to me:)💛💛 Alex xxx

Honestly... We need more people like you in this crazy and insensitive world that we live in. Lately, I've been allowing negative things from my past rule my mind, thoughts , and feelings. Not to mention that I have anxiety, depression, and BPD. Ms.Brittany, without leaving such a long comment talking about myself I will say that at one point I did attempted to end my life. I truly did because I just felt that worthless and unwanted. However, with the help of God, he brought in such a wonderful therapist that made me realize that I had so many people who truly cared about me such as my friends and family. Which is why I am pursuing a career in psychology to help others find their peace and value in this world. This video that you posted, was a sign from God to remind me, that I shouldn't allow anything or anyone bring me down. I shouldn't allow my past take away from the happiness that I can pursue... I pray daily to forgive and forget and to just focus on the moment. Thanks to you and this video, you gave me more hope that one day, I will be happy as I once used to be. Your video made me cry but from tears of happiness, if I found the light at the end of my tunnel once with the help of God, I know I will find it again with the help of God. And just an update... It's been two years that I've been clean from suicidal thoughts, feelings, and attempts. It feels good and I know one day I will overcome these mental illnesses and be happy once again. Thank you, Brittany. God bless you forever and always 💋💞

You are such an inspiration! I am currently working on my M.Ed and licensure for elementary education and I know so many of us worry about the 'what ifs' of life and the unimaginable. Watching your videos on getting through the hard times and self-care is just so calming and inspiring. I hope to one day be the teacher students look up to, much like yours do today.

Everything you say is so true and inspirational. I truly needed this today. College has been rough for me on certain days of the week because of a specific class. I am currently in a Culinary Arts program to acheive my degree, and then going on to get my teaching certificate afterwards to teach Culinary Arts to high school students to prepare them for college. Working in that specific class is way harder and more stressful than I thought. I am supposedly getting the "real feel" for this class, but getting yelled at and cussed at by the instructors, and making me feel like I am failing in the class is not what the real feel should be. I struggle with standing up for myself because of past experiences. I try to tell myself that once the semester is over, I won't have to worry about getting disrespected anymore in the program. I always look up to you for positivity, along with many other KZbin teachers who spread positivity. I spread as much positivity as I can every day, and I try to stay positive in my classes. It is hard, but I know it's possible. I know that I've mentioned how much I love your channel and your inspiration, and I just can't help but to keep telling you that because I need positivity and encouragement from people like you. You are so amazing and UNBREAKABLE!

It felt like you were speaking directly to me! Recently I’ve been so busy with getting ready for my teacher exams + staying on top of my classes that I haven’t been able to go out with friends much. Some people in my life didn’t like this and said some nasty things before walking out of my life. It’s been such a struggle some days believing that I’m not alone and that I am worth it, but your sweet message reminded me I am loved! Thank you so much, Brittany ♥️

It’s very important to practice self care. It can be hard to if you’re one of those people who puts everyone else’s needs above yours. I got through internship with that same mentality of “your students are rooting for you”. There have been times I wanted to just not be here anymore but I knew my students needed me here and that’s what grounded me.

I love your positivity. Last year was incredibly difficult after the loss of my dad and a horrible job experience. But right now I know I am where I need to be. I’m a substitute teacher and have been for a long time. I switched jobs briefly last year and it was awful. So I went back to subbing and to me it’s where I need to be. People keep asking why don’t I do something else and I don’t think I have to explain myself. I know God has me where I need to be. But one of my mantras is ‘always smile.’ Carley was a figure skater in Canada who had a rare cancer. She died a few years back at the age of 21. That was her mantra, No matter how hard it was, she always found a way to smile. There is a movie about her journey with cancer called Kiss and Cry. It’s beautiful and I wear her message everyday on a necklace or bracelet from the foundation her family started in her honor.

@fivefootoneteacher I lost my little brother in law unexpectedly to suicide on January 12th. I am a teacher too and had the hardest time going back to work after a week off for bereavement and the funeral. I felt like I lost myself and my luster. I’ve been struggling to feel the inspiration to teach again. To put that smile on my face for the kids. And I’ve felt guilty cause of that. Plus I haven’t been taking care of myself. I have been staying up too late because I’m afraid to sleep because of bad dreams and dragging myself through the day. I have been drinking when I should be doing something else to heal instead of masking the pain. This video really resonated with me.
