I love that you're doing a fun YA novel with your kids and reading aloud. I always loved being read to in school -- i found it so relaxing and enjoyable. And recently, in one of my college classes, we took turns reading paragraphs from a letter out loud and I was reminded how much I love reading aloud. It's somehow so relaxing and yet there is something so powerful about it. And also Rainbow Rowell is an excellent choice.

Eleanor and Park is one of my all-time favorite books in the entirety of this world and it has impacted me so much and made so much difference into my life especially in terms of my mentality with life and it was honestly such a beautiful book! I absolutely love how you're incorporating it into your class as a unit and comparing it to Romeo and Juliet (I've never actually thought about that correlation omg and it's so fascinating) because I just read the book on my own for enjoyment and I would've really loved to be able to discuss it in a profound and sentimental manner because the book legitimately had me screaming and crying! Thank you for everything that you do, for inspiring everyone to follow their passions despite what others say, and for shedding some light into this world!
