Great bedside manner! "Appreciate you coming in, we'll get you taken care of." No lecturing, no stream of medical jargon, just talking to the patient like a regular person, which makes such a difference when you're a nervous (maybe ashamed) patient. Great work, doctor!

Wow! What a great job you did with this man's feet. I love how you ask informative questions and don't judge this man. I am so glad he took the referral and came to see you from that nurse's recommendation. What a difference it made on his toe nails. I hope he continues to see you every couple months and you can treat the toe nail fungus. You are an amazing compassionate doctor.

I like that you never make the patients feel bad for the condition of their feet but try to be understanding. So many folks don’t have access to good healthcare or friends and family to help them. Feet sadly tend to get forgotten even though they are super important.

I can’t say enough times how important your work is- you’re giving people back their dignity, their mobility, their lives. To many people, these kind of cases are considered ‘untouchables’. Many doctors choose to pass the buck, and not do the work that needs to be done to restore the feet. Bless you, DC Footdoctor for caring about your patients and treating them with so much respect! ❤

Once again you prove you’re the very best doctor - an ideal for all other doctors to aspire to - because this patient was no doubt ashamed/nervous to come in, but you instantly put them at ease and let them know theirs is a common issue and not their fault that they’re not able to handle this on their own, especially considering they can’t even reach their own feet. They will now seek treatment for years to come in all areas of their health because of your kindness and compassion. You’re an absolute angel on earth and a joy for me to watch. I’m an attorney and you also inspire me to offer my services pro bono for those truly in need. What a pleasure you are! Thank you for being a helper and making yourself accessible. Everyone deserves a doctor like you. Love to you and yours!❤

Long-time watcher first time commenter. Sir I have been watching your videos for years now, and I just have to say that you are absolutely amazing and lovely. You talk with people on their level. You help them to feel seen. You give them their dignity back! Every time a brother or a sister comes to your office, they’re at first hesitant feeling embarrassed, and by the end they’re joking with you, totally relaxed in your hands. I’ve watched so many other doctors who are kind, but they don’t take the time to lay hands on their patients. What do I mean? You soak their feet, you explain every step, you encourage them, you don’t leave toe jam or dead skin- even though it’s not a part of the actual issue, you lotion their feet! The lotion on their feet gets me every time. Making sure they don’t leave with ashy skin! The service you provide to your community literally makes my heart sing. Thank you for all that you do. Truly thank you 😌

My 50 year old son had a terrible nail fungus for years. Finger and foot nails. When he went into the army they gave him an oral medication that helped a lot for about a year. The fungus showed up again after. We were able to get my podiatrist to trim his toes due to dual casts. Podiatrist trimmed what he could put him him on a regimen to treat the fungus. Using one oral pill and a soak and clean and cream. Thanks to my local podiatrist for the trim and instructions. Already booked a follow up appointment. Thanks to you, Sir for showing us some encouraging cases !

Great clip Dr. J. Also, may I please just follow-up on a previous video you discussing the importance of asking your patients (especially your established patients who have diabetes) what their A1C is? My brother is a Optometrist. I worked mainly in Oil and Gas my career. I also scribed in the exam room (record the patient's information, the doctor's observations and any care plans). If, I documented in the patient’s chart they have diabetes, the first thing before beginning their eye exam, my brother asked if their diabetes is controlled and what was their A1C. A lot of times the patient would just say yes. But, just like the wonderful DC Doc, my bro would say “what does that mean?!” And, “what are your A1C numbers?” Patient sometimes would reply “Oh, it’s low” and now my doc brother will really dig more. Here’s why guy’s..if the patient has diabetes and they are not taking their A1C or being compliant with their meds, then eye exam stops. We cannot get an accurate prescription if the diabetes is not controlled. Diabetes affects the vision and even risks blindness. DC doc too here. He is very concerned about his patients and wants the best care he can give. By him asking the patient what their numbers are and not just taking “it’s ok” by the patient, he is medically helping the patient so, they don’t risk amputations, plus not just the patients feet, uncontrolled diabetes affects the whole body. Side note…if I lived in DC you bet I would have Dr. J. as my foot doctor. No question about it. He is a brilliant doctor! And, he really cares about his patients health and wellbeing. Thank you for letting me share Doc.

There had better be a part 2 to this. It's obvious that there's more to it because the nails weren't the only problem with his feet. 😳

You treat your patients with such respect and dignity. I've dealt with more than a few docs who treated me in a condescending, patronizing manner, nor did they explain to me what they were doing or why. Most of us want to know! You truly are a wonderful doctor!!!!!

God bless this poor man. I can only imagine the relief he must have felt after this. Thank you for putting good doctors down here who treat people with compassion and not ridicule.🙏
