Hey can I recommend an album? “The Record” by Boygenius. I don’t know if you’ve listened to any music from Julien Baker or Lucy Dacus, but the band also had Phoebe Bridgers!! SO GOOD. And anything by Lucy and Julien (especially Julien) IMO is so poetic. You would really like it.

19:42 This ties perfectly with "the slowest way to kill someone is never loving them enough" from *High Infidelity* of Midnights. This is why many people are thinking that even though she sold us the idea of Midnights being an album spanning through various years in her life, some have come to the conclusion that in reality sure it spans throughout years of her life.... more specifically *6 years* of her life and that this album is literally the disintegration of that relationship. Honestly, I prefer the original idea of *it* covering *several* years throughout her life, rather than being about this one person... because it is just too painful if that were the case (at least for me)

apparently Joe was borderline disparaging about taylor wanting to be back in the spotlight. He was used to the ‘reputation’ and pandemic taylor who was happy being a homebody to him and hiding away in england in musty cabins and basically never going anywhere high profile. Then when the pandemic waned and she started working on midnights and planning the tour and most of all when she and her team felt very strongly that she was likely to get an oscar nomination for her crawdads song, she befan to get more and more excited about maybe attending some events with him. She assumed they would walk the oscars carpet together etc etc, and he basically SCOFFED and SNEERED at all of it, openly was disparaging about how stupid high profile restaurants were how lame award shows were. He didn’t let her bejeweled. this info adds a whole new layer to “Bejeweled” and also youre losing me gives me heavy the great war vibes and there is a theory that “your losing me” was supposed to be on midnights but was replaced by labyrinth. It is said that taylor and joe broke up before the release of midnights in which case she was going to put your losing me and then she replaced it with labyrinth last minute when they got back together again (they had alot of fights) think about it because the songs are sisters sonically and lyrically, its just the complete opposite of one another. “Youre losing me” vs “Im falling in love again” im saying like midnights is such a break up album and how this can all tie into midnight rain etc etc literally how did we go from “peace” “paper rings” “the lakes” “delicate” “invisible string” to AND I WOULDNT MARRY ME EITHER i guess they didn’t survive the great war and she will never walk corneila street again

I also noticed the parallels to great war! Its so interesting because I remember relistening to peace and thinking how sad it was how the song talks about almost being sad about the big life you have. I started to wonder even listening to the bonus tracks on midnights about the themes of insecurity around the magnitude of her life. So it's interesting to read this and I agree about bejeweled!

@@sherthetruth re: the great war parallel.... I saw someone say that it's a really apt title because WW 1 was dubbed "The Great War." If they could survive that, they could survive anything. But they had no idea World War 2, the most destructive war in history, was still headed their way. I wouldn't be surprised if that was intentional.

Honestly, I have issues with maintaining friendships at great economic levels- I would imagine it would be next to impossible in a relationship to have such a vast wealth difference, attention difference, and when she regained Superstar status, that may be when it began- the pandemic may have delayed it, but with ERAS, and the time apart, and all of the absolute adoration she is now getting- sounds like he was jealous. She wasted 6 almost 7 years with him, and she wants kids,,,,,,,,,
