Loved this video! Especially the Bassetmobiel and that "drive" to the walking trail. I live in Zambia and take my 4 doggos to a safe area to walk them, in my open game - watcher Landrover. People always laugh and point....it looks like we are on a game watching, doggo safari. 😁

I had four basset hounds and was walking three on one leash and one in my other hand when suddenly the three took off and drug me down an embankment through the weeds to a creek I had the leash wrapped around my wrist and couldn’t get it loose I was thinking about getting snake bit while I was rolling around in the weeds finally was able to get up and they were having a ball in the water didn’t see that coming and they all had a separate leash after that you gotta love them to death mine are all gone now and I miss them

I have a question about the breed. Would 30 min morning walk, a short sniff outside at noon and a longer 1 hour walk in the late afternoon be enough for them to be calm and quit during some hours alone? (By walk, I mean on a long leash and through the woods) I would of course also play with him every day and do scent games with him...

i didn`t understand what it was with that invisible fence? do hte dog need a car ride before a walk? :)
@valbordeaux95597 жыл бұрын
Bassets "love" to run away so you need a fence. They make them think there's an invisible fence which is pretty clever imo. :) I don't know if I could trick my basset like that, though.
@rollerbladinggeek55076 жыл бұрын
Many dogs by their nature are curious- are you sure driving them to the end of the driveway would stop them wanting to run off & explore?!

Why do you put them in the car?
@valbordeaux95597 жыл бұрын
Usually you need a fence because Bassets tend to escape/run away and go on a basset journey. They make them believe they can not run away by pretending there is a (invisible) fence. Therefore they need a car to get out of this area. ;)
@katiehershey16925 жыл бұрын
Well, you may believe these lovely people are pretending to have an invisible fence, ValBordeaux, but I'm certain there really IS an invisible fence because he takes off their sensor collars at the beginning of the clip and puts on their 'go for a walk' collars. I love dogs and bassets are definitely in my top 5 favorite breeds, but NO dog is so smart that these folks would go to the trouble of switching collars just to make the dogs believe there is a fence. It's there. The collars prove it!
