Okay I'm a minimalist deep to my core so I've watched every "purge your closet" "minimalist wardrobe" video KZbin has to offer. And this is the FIRST time someone broke down their declutter in this way. Got 20 shirts, get rid of 10. This feels so achievable and rewarding. Great tip!!

One thing you did that’s a serious game changer when decluttering is not hesitating to get rid of something that still has the tag on. I always struggle to get rid of things on the basis of “I spent money on this and even if I don’t wear it I don’t want to waste the money!” But a bad purchase isn’t made any less bad by keeping it unnecessarily in your closet 😅 thanks for this, so motivating!

This is an awesome way to declutter! I’m a minimalism in my clothes. Literally have 3 T-shirt’s, 2 pairs of jeans, 1 pair of leggings and few dresses 😂. But I love it! I wear everything all the time and once it starts falling apart, I get rid of it and buy something to replace it. I love it.

Your hanger trick of putting the clothes on facing backwards at the beginning of the year and seeing what we never wore at the end of the year helped a TON with closet decluttering.

I was so overwhelmed with my clothes years ago. This is exactly what I did. Cut my clothes in half. Every 6 months for about 2-3 years. Now I have a much smaller pool of clothes. I’m not cutting down again until after I’m done with pregnancies and early motherhood so I have plenty of options between the body changes, but it was so helpful!! Cutting in half is a fantastic strategy!!

At one time I didn't think minimalism would work for me but after alot of reflection (and some therapy), I realized that my part-time home and the place where I found an incredible amount of peace, was a completely bare-bones living arrangement which has/is making my decluttering journey so much easier.

Yes with ADHD and indecisiveness. I will say that AFTER I decluttered over half my wardrobe and got rid of so much stuff inside my house despite how my brain works, it makes it EASIER! Getting overwhelmed and being indecisive is EASY to do when you have SO MANY choices and things to choose from. I know everyone is different, but keep in mind that even though it’s stressful in the beginning, the end result makes life so much easier and less chaotic! Amazing video! Thanks for sharing❤

I have a smallish closet for the amount of clothes that I have. I took Marie Kondo's tip and folded my t-shirts, leggings, jean capris and put them in drawers or bins under my hanging clothes. Easy to get to, but they don't take up prime real estate on the hanging rods. The rods are reserved for my beautiful blouses and kimonos, etc, and keeps them wrinkle free. Many times all it takes is better organization and not so much throwing out good clothing or things you may end up regretting.

I've cleaned out my closet before with the Marie Kondo method, but never got rid of the amount that I actually want to. I tend to hold on to things 'just in case'. This is actually a super smart way, to just get rid of half of it! Another way that I have heard of, that is apparently really helpful, is to grab the clothes out of your closet that you 1000% absolutely LOVE and wouldn't give away for the world. That way you can look at the things you love less and (apparently/hopefully) realize you don't actually want and/or need it. Gonna try that and your method soon. Loved the video!

U can keep 8 sweaters if u live in a place that has a full cold season. U might need 10 tees too. So make a season capsule and make space in the garage. If u don't need ur winter coat and sweaters march-sept. Put them in the capsule. If u don't need a short sleeve body suit or 9pair of Lululemon shorts during sept-march put them in the capsule. The closest stays clear and u keep ur good fashions. We buy good fashions and we're not rich so we keep our stuff that we want to still wear. We just keep them in clear bins for the season

Hi Jordan, I think that organizing your closet is a good idea. My plan is to organize my clothes and closet by the seasons. That way my clothes will be worn during the year.
