I absolutely agree with having totally different palette cleanser minis. I have a shelf full of random cool minis built and primed. Whenever I'm feeling burnt out on a project I look through it for anything that takes my inspiration.

one really big tip i heard from a tf2 youtuber named SoundSmith is to take a break BEFORE you experience burnout. he stated that there's this period before you burn out where you lose a little bit of interest but still really want to continue, but if you stop while in that period it will prevent you from pushing too far into true burnout, so that the break period is shorter meaning you get back into the hobby faster.

One I use is to break my projects down into “one day builds” like build and paint a squad or a warband or one piece of terrain in a single day. It’s fun and rewarding whilst being realistic.

Hobby burnout is real. I usually have several projects on the go and just hop from one to another as the mood hits. Things get completed slower but I usually always have something to work on to de-stress and enjoy spending time on. Enjoying your content thus far, looking forward to more!

If you paint them all this way, chances are that at least one will make it to the end of the game ;-)

Your colour schemes are kinda amazing. Do you mix custom colours or are you just really good at finding unique pigments?

Kind of off topic but i love those custodes and i’ve been using a very similar color scheme for mine and was wondering what paints you used for the purple?

Definitely slowly working on two armies helps me, not just stay interested but develop skills as well. Another thing that motivates me is the different play styles make the game richer for me.

Great video! Recently i have kinda looked at my Custodes army that i painted in a custom scheme and wondered if i should repaint them as they aren't the best paint job around. However i am 99% sure i would burn out simply from stripping paint from them, so i think the better choice for now is simply paint any new stuff i get slightly differently and come up with a scheme that i like and can be happy about

Sometimes I just focus on painting one colour on loads of minis, etc for space marines I'll paint all the base colours, or I'll paint all the silver parts

Do you do paint tutorials for you models? Can you do a video on high standard vs low standard or even a deep dive of it? Love the videos dude. I watch you while a paint and when i get stuck in my thoughts about painting and building. Thank you for the motivation and drive! =)

After painting 18 models of death guard plague marine, suddenly I kinda lost interest. Your video really helped one miniature painting guy from S.Korea. Thank you.

Not criticizing at all, but I just had a funny thought in my brain as you said "Try to pay more attention to the models that are going to stay in the battle the longest. I guess I really should paint my poxwalkers and gretchins better, since they usually just sit on a backline objective till the end of the game :D Great video btw!

I'm not sure if it's burnout or me being a pothead because I just sometimes find boxes of minis I bought years ago and totally forgot. _I will get around to it_

I am not that experiented yet but i cam to the conclusion that the minis i want to play with i paint relatively quick because i cant spent 5 or 6 hour for 1 mini out of 50 but for stuff like displays i really take my time because these minis wont be touched or handled

Would have been cool if you actually showed different levels of painting standards for your "chaff" instead of just showing your gorgeous character models.

And mayby, when doing that pallet cleansing, don't buy a Games workshop model , that costs a fucking ridiculous amount of money, but get a 3D print, recast, or some other company's mini, and paint that!
