The easiest way I've found to clean a microwave is to start by nuking a cup of water with lemon juice in it until it's good and steamy. I usually do 5-6 minutes in my microwave. Then, you can continue with the wash and wipe as usual, you just won't have to scrub because of the steam bath you just gave it.

Here's a tip for cleaning the microwave, Kim. Especially when stuff is really stuck on. Put about a cup of water in a microwave safe measuring cup and heat for two minutes. Do not open the door, let it sit there for a good five minutes or more if needed. When you open the door some of the crud will have been softened by the steam and will wipe off much easier.

I keep my garbage bags for the bathroom under the current bag I'm using ! So handy and one less thing to go on a search for and my people are more likely to put in a new bag when they see them there . My microwave hack is to heat water in an heavy glass measuring cup in the microwave for 3 minutes then leave in closed for 5-10 mins. All things crusty are then soft and just wipe out easily. You are so fun to " be friends" with and I enjoy you living mom's life and doing all the things. My kids are in their 40's so be encouraged. You'll never get it all " done" but you'll get there.

Microwave tip- put water in a glass measuring cup (around a cup maybe) then put approximately 2 Tbsp Lemon juice. Heat about a minute or two. This steams the entire inside and SOFTENS everything!! Wipe it off right away and it’s so easy!!! 🤯

Sometimes I wipe out what I can and hit it with steam again. It's amazing!

Thanks for an enjoyable Sunday morning while I drink my coffee and work on my Quarantine Elf on a Shelf for my classroom! My microwave gets that nasty too and I use cleaning vinegar. I fill a 2 C measuring cup, put it in the microwave for 3 minutes and set a timer for 20 minutes. When I come back, I open the microwave and set the timer for 5 minutes - this lets the strong vinegar smell dissipate. Then I come back with a cotton dish cloth and wipe it down quickly and easily.

Watching you clean your microwave has reminded me that mine has been on a”list” that I found in a old winter coat pocket, shoved in the back of a closet. That Clorox toilet bowl cleaner you had under your bathroom sink is perfect to clean white grout. I literally put the nozzle on the grout let it sit for five mins and voila.

Hey Kim , with painting the table , If you don’t want your table to chip and easy to clean , try oil based paint, it’s longer lasting and gives your furniture glossy finish. The only downside is that dry down time is normally 12 hours and the smell is strong , so best to paint outside . You only need two coats of paint let it dry completely. And voila ,

Baking soda/peroxide mixed to a paste consistency onto grout with an old toothbrush. Let it sit a while. Add water and scrub. Then wash off. Give it a try. Works awesome (and cheap)!!

Kim! Look into fusion mineral paint. It has a built in resin top coat and requires little prep, just a cleaned surface! Painted surfaces are okay to start on and laminate needs a quick 5 minute sanding before you start. You could likely do your desk AND your bathroom cabinet with the same bottle, SERIOUSLY.

Microwave, if you put a cup of water in and turn it on for 2 mins. It will be very easy to clean. Your desk, get a color of chalk paint you like. Very easy. It’s great. Also clear wax to seal it. It drys fast. You don’t have to be an expert. You’ve got this. 👍🏻

@20:17 easy fast trick to to clean the microwave is that after you've used it get a small glass and fill it with vinegar and throw it in the microwave for a minute. Then take out the glass and just wipe down everything easy peasy lemon squeezy

I have been looking into them for years so I understand your hesitation! The great thing about them is Wentworth Sparks, my three-year-old, had multiple activities for him! And for my older kids it had one main activity but also provided different things to do with it once the project was completed! So it really did keep them engaged and interested! Plus the directions were super easy to follow!! I was worried about putting the tinker box together because that is not my thing- but the directions were awesome!!

Easy way to clean a dirty microwave is to fill a mug of water with a splash or two of white vinegar and turn it on for 3 minutes. Then you remove the mug and it helps break up anything stuck one. Then you clean it with what ever products you typically use!! It’s a lifesaving hack! With wanting to up cycle furniture like your desk if you give it a good sanding then paint it should help with repainting!

For the kids art, I'd invest in Da Vinci frames (they're on amazon) - it's a single frame that will let you store up to 50 (i think) pages of art per frame. So you'd get one frame per kid, and then add the art as they create them, and the newest art is always displayed, and the art isn't lost, hidden or thrown away. I'm getting my mother and mother in law these for Christmas, and I have one myself. :)

Love Method Cleaning products there my favourite you can always do a mix of water and vinegar in a bowl put it into your microwave heat for 3 minutes the steam will get all that crap off your microwave and you can wipe it with the vinegar and water mixture. You could also use lemon instead of vinegar.
