Good video, I added to both sides of my Waterloo Armies, got good prices on both Warlord Games Starter Army box sets 30% off. Looking forward to seeing more game play or update videos.

Cracking video as always Tim. Perrys always a great buy. Just wondering what you think of the Victrix French Plastic artillery kits?

Thank you for the great recommendation and guidance. I have a couple of questions. Is there a reason you didn't go with the plastic command sprues from Perry? They're about 30% cheaper. Is there something stopping us from being able to use the middleguard command minis in the regular line units from the starter box? Thank you again for the great content!

The main reason I didn't is that they are not in greatcoats, whereas the infantry are. Now, to be fair, it doesn't really matter, and in fact is a great way of bridging the gap between quick and easy (greatcoats) and fancy (full uniform). It's absolutely a good idea!

@@NapoleonicWargaming Thank you for the feedback! My thought was it looks like there are also some line troopers on that sprue as well. I was thinking I could maybe sprinkle them in around the bases to add some pop and diversify the unit. Do you think that would make it look too busy?
@NapoleonicWargaming

Looks as though I’ll be building a 2000+ points competition Army circa 1980 rules. The Brit. 3rd Division is tempting as it’s the most famous in the British Army 😎

I just wish someone would do plastic dutch/Belgians in 28mm and epic scale. Costs me a small fortune to build up regiments.

I just built some dutch using warlord peninsular british with perry austrian heads. You only need to trim the oakleaf on the shako and remove the crossstrap on the chest and the straps (?) on the cuffs. And add a little round bit from the sprue on the body to act as a neck. You could use the austrian backpacks, but looking at MAA 371, plate E, using the british backpack painted differently will do fine. At tabletop level it looks good. Just an idea.

Why not design each battalion to be a brigade that way you get to think like a Division or a Corps Commander and perhaps reduce movement and ranges just to make life difficult.

Can basing including adding grass/etc get addressed? And terrain making? I collect 20mm and notice that 28mm seem to have better variety and details.

Great video - a lot of math for me. Diagrams or charts would have been helpful to visualize the narrative.

Great video, very much enjoyed it as I'm trying to convince some friends to expand their starter box purchases into full armies. If I could suggest another "Start Collecting" video, I would love to see one for Westphalia or any of the members of the Confederation of the Rhine

HI NW, I always wondered , is there a reason while later French Napoleonic's figures are often shown wearing great coats?
@glenwilson8292
@glenwilson8292 2 жыл бұрын
I think it's because of supply issues later on in the wars, french conscripts were issued with greatcoats because of a lack of blue tunics, but I stand by to be corrected by someone more knowledgeable
@NapoleonicWargaming
@NapoleonicWargaming 2 жыл бұрын
That's certainly a reason Glen. I think it's the Waterloo effect tbh. Because they (probably) them there, I think they are a go to for late war. They probably wore them at Dresden too, but most other times I think it probably stayed on the pack! You've made me think, I might actually use some Victrix bicorne heads on Warlord coated infantry! (I'll need to make a collar for each though) for some Austerlitz action!

Another video on Waterloo? but why not on one of the 100 battles won by Napoleon? What's more is a battle won 1 against 3. Frankly there is really nothing to boast about.

There are plenty of videos about battles other than Waterloo! Might I suggest the Napoleonic Fugures series, non of which include Waterloo, the two videos on the Russian Guard or any of thr battles in which I face off against the dastardly Austrians?
