Update idea: MIDI assignment (to expression pedal) for the pitch bend. It would be nice if both hands were free to play chords and use the pedal to bend.

Thanks for the suggestion sun! Our founder Krishna wanted this too and has been designing a solution to this problem! For now, we can see if we can provide an option to route a MIDI CC 11 to PB. But it will then need a software smoothing option because MIDI CCs are not high resolution controls.

Some suggestions! It would be cool if the virtual graphic keyboard on the screen, highlighted all of the notes in the scale you're playing in...so you can customize chords and not have to guess or know music theory. And add an inversions option on the pad options drop down menu. Also add a "MIDI" drag and drop option. Also a dark mode or color scheme/skin mode, the current is kind of bright and the contrast between the white keys, black keys, and background could do with more separation.

There should be an other mode beside "Fixed" where you can use legato style playing on the predefined chord keys. So you can jump from and to any chord as long you overlap them while playing. This of course would need a portamento time knob, or the target note's velocity could determine the speed of the transition. This could be a super easy way to work, no need even for the pitchbend knob.

I concur with this suggestion as it would work well for when you want to just work within your DAW to program the chords rather than playing live with a keyboard.

Good demo, but you might think about adding some sound proofing to your room. If had terrific reverb in the room, like talking in a large box. Made it difficult to hear what you was saying.

I'm trying the demo and it's an amazing idea, I think the most important missing feature is the automation of the hosted vst, hope it will be included in next releases. We could have for example 4 knobs to link the parameter we want to automate from the hosted vst to the fluid chords main plugin

Hi John, 1. You can confidently use unequal number of chord notes since the duplication of notes are distributed evenly. For eg: if a triad chord bends to a full 13th chord, each note on the triad gets duplicated and bends to make the full 13th chord. So that the bending is as fluid as possible. 2. You can control the polyphonic bending in real time using the pitchbend wheel. (I only read recently that Zebra lets you do this, but not all synths can)

Can you implement this feature? Since everyone is used to play and hold Chords with Pedals, can we switch to the next (real time played) chord after releasing the Pedal? For the transition you can make a knob with "time" to transition to the next chord (similar like ADSR). Is that possible? If so, I can even use it in live performances and not only in production environment. If you realise this, I want this software.

Would be cool to use fluid pitch to set your microtuning scale and and use fluid chords to blend those pitches within chords... 😱 but there are workarounds i guess using scala files on mpe instruments

Hi Skyboywastaken, in the plugin wrapper settings, under the MIDI section, Set the "Send pitch bend range" to 2 and see if solves the problem.

I'm experiencing some bugs - at the moment I'm trying Surge XT - Using the Warm Hug preset as you have here, and It was working with these settings, and I've saved my FL Studio preset. However periodically (at least) the pitch stops bending the right amount, and bends a small fraction of that. So if I play a C chord and then an A Chord, I get something like a very flat C chord instead. Any ideas?

HI JP, accessing the hosted synth's parameter via Fluid Chords is not possible as it is more complicated to implement. For eg, VST3 does not allow changing the parameters dynamically after loading Fluid Chords.

If it's not possible for all parameters, it would be useful to at least be able to access and automate the 4 macros knobs in some of the most common supported plugins (Serum, Vital, Pigments etc). That would open up a lot of possibilities already :)

Hi Andrew, unfortunately, no. But you can use the learn feature to capture the chords from a MIDI keyboard.

Good Plugin but I'm finding it difficult to return to home chord in fluid mode because the trigger cuts out the sound which doesn't sound really great, I hope you guys fix that somehow!! Edit: There maybe a bug with the pitch bend automation in Studio One where if I set the pitch bend anything above 60% it doesn't return to 0% when I set it at that with the automation instead it just goes all the way to 100% preventing me from going back to home chord until the note is retriggered.

All of Bitwig's native sound devices have MPE built in, including their Sampler. Just load up some Pedal Steel samples and you're good to go with this Fluid Chords plug!

Hi icon dark, this is very easy. To bend back to the home chord, just press any other chord trigger twice.

@@pisupport2151 Thanks, that worked! For those needing a little more detail, I had C1 on my piano roll triggering the first chord throughout the entire length of the section (4 bars). To get to chord two (and so on) I put D1, E1, etc and used the Pitch wheel as normal. To get BACK to the first chord, I put C1 on the piano roll again, ON TOP of the one that was already there, so it looked like there was only one note (c1) but there was actually two (the sustained C1 and a 1-bar C1 on top of it). FluidChords was in fluid mode.

Yes, this is glaring and standouts. This detracts from properly showcasing the actual product. Note to PI: Add carpets & rugs for the floor and acoustic panels and curtains on the walls absorb those reflections in the spokesperson’s voice. Use a shotgun mic 🎙 or lapel mic. It increases the production value significantly for the KZbin channel.

The concept is good but in reality there are still many bugs. Loading little to no external synths from major developers like Native Instruments or The V Collection from Arturia and when loaded the functions often don't work only with the internal synth, that's not the reason I bought this product. I hope for a good update because now it is value loss.

@@1BorisRoss Depending on the DAW, you probably can. But please note that Fluid Chords need at least 1-10 channels of its midi output routed to the corresponding channels of synth instrument's MIDI In to be working properly. In a nutshell, Fluid Chords can only work with synths that support MPE.

Well, you can ofcourse use Kushview's Element, insert 8 instances of your favourite synth and route each of them to each channels in Fluid Chords MIDI out.

@@101Licious just bought it and this is something you guys really need to fix, I can load Arturia synths in the FC vst but the pitch wheel doesn't work. It feels like an unfinished product to me. Let's hope for a good update.

All you need to do is enable 'MPE' by clicking the settings cog wheel on the top right corner of the plugin (This is only a one time setup). Great pitch bending product but very difficult to understand your speech due to early room reflections. Install some sort of room treatment to reduce the reverb (place camera at opening of a closet full of soft garments and use rugs on floor). In other words, add lots of soft materials to the room to help absorb some of the reverb. Also, get the microphone much closer to your mouth (wear a lavalier microphone).

Fluid Pitch was designed to scale lock the pitch-bending of the all the notes. Fluid Chords is designed to bend from any chord to any chord no matter which scale they are in.

Hi William, Fluid Pitch is a MIDI FX plugin that allows you to scale lock your pitch bend wheel so that you don't land on a wrong note whilst pitch bending, which is a limitation of the traditional pitch bending system. Additionally Fluid Pitch also allows you to pitch bend polyphonically but it's only limited to a set number of notes. Fluid Chords is an intelligent chord bending plugin that allows you to bend from any chord to any chord so that you can create harmonies that have never been heard before like bending from a triad to a complex chord musically, bending from a single note to a chord or also creating unique pitch FX like chord risers etc. The possibilities of chord bending are truly endless unlike the polyphonic bending in Fluid Pitch.

You have an excellent product & idea, but you’ve got to fix your audio to fully represent your product to its fullest capabilities. With this mediocre audio presentation, acoustically it’s too difficult to understand this demonstration/tutorial.

Its a bad thing to buy. I works with a few synths only, and if you don't own one, the Software is useless. Then it comes with an annoying nag screen, each time, you simply click the channel in the DAW, even with a registered product. This is such an evil crap - I wanted my money back, but there was even no reaction by the support. I would say, this is nag software.
