I've not actually used the tool, but from watching the videos I can see that Pitch Innovations have come up with another innovative tool with a creative UI and lots of useful options. The UI reminds me of Baby Audio's approach. Yes, we all have sequencers, arps etc in our armoury, but sometimes it's good to approach a creative problem from a different angle. I'm not a dance / house / techno music-maker, my main genre is ambient / avant-gade / field recordings etc. So, I'm not sure if I'll purchase this unless I find a creative use - although you have demonstrated use with synth pads and strings, which are definitely up my street.

Hey, trial user here - using the MIDI instrument version. Would it be possible to make a button that will automatically allow dragging of the current entered pattern - until the last shape entered? That would be most convenient rather than having to click on "capture" and wait for the pattern to play, then click stop, and THEN drag. It seems like it would be easy to just place the length until the last shape into a buffer for immediate gratification (of midi dragging).

Demoing this. Great job! It's great to have 3 play modes. Simple yet musical and powerful :) Just a few thought. Unless I'm wrong it's not possible to Midi map things like Swing, Gate, Dynamics, and... importantly... the Random button! :/ It's a shame cause there's so much we can do with racks, randomisation, snapshots and of course automations. It's especially important to have access to parameters when using the device as a Midi effect, since it sits on another Midi track than the soft synth. Minor thing: when using the computer keyboard in Live as a Midi note keyboard, the keyboard stops responding when you edit Groove Shaper, and you need to click anywhere in Live to reactivate it. Bit fiddly when demoing without a Midi controller. Thanks for the great tool!

I’ve been having so much fun with this! It’s really inspiring. The MIDI FX plugin in Logic is so excellent, I’ve been putting it on everything! 👏 I honestly wasn’t sure this was something I needed, but the price was so good I couldn’t pass it up. Glad I got it! I can’t imagine not having it now, after just one evening of creating with it. 😅😍

Given your previous products with MPE capability, will this have MPE functionality as well? That is, if I am pitch bending a chord with MPE and I use this plugin, will I lose the pitch bending because the MPE information isn't passed through?

Can't get Bitwig 5 to recognize this (paid, not demo) VST or VST3. I don't believe it's a Groove Shaper issue, because Reason 12 sees it no problem. *Super Fun when I can load it though. **Also, also.. The plugin scanner crashed several times during install, but I have WAY TOO MANY plugins, so could be entirely my fault.

I like the look of (and thinking behind) this, and certainly at intro price it seems like a good value plugin. Was wondering though: would it be possible to add a HP/LP filter sequencer parameter in addition to velocity, gate etc? First glance seems to suggest that the plugin would be particularly useful for quick and potentially interesting percussion pattern creation: but hearing the hi-hats demo got me thinking that with single-velocity layer samples (which I'm sure we all have many of for use in diy-load wav samplers), something to adjust frequencies in relation to velocities would be a useful 'cheat' to make such samples at least more realistic-sounding in sequence, i.e. minimise the machine-gun effect. Please could you add a Bypass function? So that Groove Shaper can still pass Midi through the device when it's off. It's very handy when you have Midi racks/chain/tracks.

When entering shapes into the sequencer, I feel a very convenient way to fill the spaces would be to simply press the numbers 1-8 on the computer keyboard. Drag and drop feels slow to me.

This looks cool, but why not just make it output MIDI instead of loading the instruments into the plugin? I guess most people will want to drag and drop a clip to the DAW and keep editing from there.

Cool. Il try it out. From what I understand from the video, plugin scanning is "mandatory" as soon as you load the plugin for the first time. IDK but it seems to me that loading plugins inside of another plugin could lead another level of bugs / crashes.

I like it ... but the "using shape blocks" is ridiculous. There better be an option to display the actual musical note value on the blocks for me to want to purchase it.The other problem I have is that I don't see how you easily put the sequence into a meaningful 1, 2, 4 etc. patterns. Let me explain. While I see you can tie notes and adjust note lengths, I don't see any value provided in musical notation to that you can set the sequence to add up to exact bar intervals. Here's how it should work, and if I misunderstand I apologize. Each block playing notes should have a 'master' musical setting. If I want 1/8th notes to play for 1 beat, the master setting would be a 1/4 note and I would get two 1/8th notes. Or if I wanted 4 1/16th notes the master setting for that block would be 1/4 note. Otherwise I don't see how it makes any sense to simply throw blocks of different note intervals in a string and create a coherent groove. I hope I just misunderstand.

So i have both Fluid pitch and chords... and have to be honest...this is just a fancy (as in visually speaking) arpegiator. Was expecting a bit more than to simply provide an arp sequencer. But good job anyway

IOS auv3 or it didn’t happen. Such a shame to have a UI like this without multitouch. The iOS eco can’t be ignored by any developer. There is a reason why auv3 started at iOS and now becomes native. Developers that design plugins for iOS auv3 first will have a easy time as you don’t need to redesign a iOS auv3 app to use on desktop. You can go from touch to mouse. You can’t go from mouse to touch without redesigning interaction.
