Hi Arun... Did you try automating it in java... I am getting connection timed out error while using rest assured... And surprisingly not getting this error while trying with postman... Any idea?

I have not. I generally working in Python. There are some Groovy examples in Oracle documentation. My understanding is Groovy and Java are similar in some aspects. May be checkout those examples. Might give you some ideas. Also earlier you had to pass user name as "domain.username". Newer versions of EPM doesn't require that.

It is part of your instance URL itself.

Hi Arun, I'm trying to get data from planning as you did above and i seem to get an error 'You are not authorized to access the requested resource'. I seem to have systemadmin access and still getting forbidden error... any idea why?

Is the REST API end point correct? If you paste the REST API end point into the browser, what happens?

@@atarunraj @ArunRajTutorials I get the same error You are not authorized to access the requested resource just to clarify, the start of the URL should be the active application name correct? and the tenant name is same as the identity name correct? and service type is pbcs

It should be the application URL. If it's planning, the URL should end with HyperionPlanning. After this you add the API end point to construct the complete url.

Hi Arun ! I have a requirement to extract the data from ARCS tables, for e.g. ARM_RECONCILIATIONS, and may be export it as csv and put it at some location so that I can load the csv in some database like ATP or MySQL. I tried the option of calling the ARCS report REST API but that doesn’t give me the output in response, instead it emails the output as attachment hence I’m unable to automate the insertion of output into some target db. I explored the epmautomate options for ARCS but could not find the command which can run the report or extract the data from table and download the file. Basically I want to connect ARCS with Oracle Analytics Cloud and then run analysis on top of that but unfortunately OAC only supports connect with EPM planning, FCCS and tax reporting but not ARCS. So I’m looking for other options to automate the data extraction from ARCS at a frequency and then run my analysis on top of it. Let me know if you can help me with your expertise. I’m new to ARCS. Looking forward. Thanks in advance.

@@atarunraj Hi Arun ! Yes I did see your comments but that did not work out. I created a custom report and ran it but it’s output file is not getting stored anywhere hence i could not use epmautomate command to move the report output to external location.

@@atarunraj also tried calling the custom report REST API through SOAP UI but the response doesn’t give the report output, instead it send the output in email attachment. I doesn’t work like fusion but report where the web service response give the output in base64. So this approach doesn’t seem to work in ARCS. Also, from OAC standpoint, there is connector available for EPM Cloud but that supports only planning, fccs and tax reporting modules.

@@ManojSharma-eg2xz You will have to download the file from EPM using the downloadFile REST API. Once it is downloaded you can process the file the way you want to.
