My life with Kimberly Wadsworth: I signed up for IXL, yes, I am 63 almost 64, so at this point I’m just trying to hold onto all the brain cells I still have. Its been humbling to say the least. Lol. But I’m enjoying all the certificates I’ve been earning in my email. Then my neighbor texted me about “my” chocolate chip cookie recipe that she wanted to bake for friends that have had them before. So I had to look back at Kim’s old videos (with a 6 year old Eleanor-so adorable!!) and get that recipe and send it to her. I even sent the video showing Kim baking it. AND she did the sponsored content on LMNT today, and I have to tell you I tried it and I LOOOOOVE IT! I love all the flavors and I love the way it makes me feel! It even seems to help my digestion work better and my skin feel less fragile and thin and DRY. Just one small little woman saving this old lady little by little! And the neighbors too! Hi!! Licensed architect here!! Unfortunately…I doubt you’ll get a quote for much less if you’re doing a roof extension vs. a standalone/pergola/some other kind of independent structure. Personally I don’t like the look of extended roofs over patios- go with pergola! (You can have them install plexiglass in the slats to allow more coverage & even have some greenery growing over top!)

I was going to ask if the roof was made of gold!!! We got a room done in our basement a few years ago and the quote was 20000$ I asked the contractors if the walls were gold. Not saying they're trying to rob us, but the material costs are atrocious.

Silent viewer here 🙋🏽‍♀️ In Germany we have our electrical „Markise“ that we can move in and out (when we’re sitting outside) with a remote control Google says it’s called an „awning“ costs usually 4-5 k and ours is 3meters x 4meters. Maybe you can get your hands on something similar. It’s quite practical because as I said it rolls in so in case of storm and rain it doesn’t get damaged 👍🏼 greetings from Germany

For future gravy, add cold water to the cornstarch. It doesn’t dissolve in hot water and will just clump up like that.

We use a sun sail on our deck. They are versatile and cool our deck by at least 20 degrees. They can be taken down in high winds.

A birthday party idea I did a few times when I was Avelina’s age, if you’re interested was to invite a few friends to spend a night at a hotel (not a super expensive one, we did a Marriott or Embassy Suites), and then we could swim and cruise the halls and get room service. We felt cool😂 And of course not by ourselves, we had a room and my mom had a connecting room.

If I were you and I had as many kiddies as you do, I would have a housekeeper, at least once a month to do the really deep cleaning. It would be worth whatever it cost, then you could do the day to day keep up. With all your kids activities and small kids to boot, u have no time to stop and smell the roses. You have a lawn care guy, you should have a housekeeper, walls , kick boards, windows sweep mop and bathrooms once a month. I’m just sayin , you deserve it!

Instead of cornstarch, try thickening your gravy with instant potato flakes! Sooo much flavor, it’s delicious.

I use a little water ( after boiling potatoes) as it always little bits of potato and starch in it and add stock to it, mix and continue making gravy.

Consider a pergola with a retractable shade on the sunny side. That would allow light in but shield the heat of the sun. My SIL made one for their house; it was beautiful and made the shaded area functional.

You made me laugh. It doesn't get easier, even when the children are grown and gone. Then you have to contend with old age, which ain't no picnic. I used to clean up a storm, decorate every nook and cranny and cook, cook, cook. Those were the days. Now I'm lucky if I remember to wear underwear. Enjoy the now. As hectic as it is, it's wonderful. I do have a hint about the cornstarch slurry. If you use cold water instead of warm/hot broth to mix the cornstarch, it gets really smooth and velvety. Then add to your warm/hot broth and everything is smooth and yummy.

Kim…I love all of your videos…and I’m a grandma of 6 girls so I’m definitely not your average follower. I don’t mind at all when you tend to rant because i know how much it helps you to just say it and get it all out! Please believe me when I tell you how amazing I think you are. You’re a very thoughtful and giving mom and your children are growing up so beautifully….so don’t ever think you are failing in that regard. And does the rest of life matter that much….especially in this stage of life? Your children and your hubby are what matter most. Also…i know you love your Macro Friendly meals….the recipes seem great. But do you realize that Elise is one of the Six Sisters and all of their recipes are free on the web? I notice how similar the meals that you share with us are to six sisters. You have already been a follower of the macro meals and i notice you print off her recipes so you don’t even need to pay to be a member there any more. I’ve been a follower of six sisters for years and Kristen is my Instant Pot guru that taught me all about the instant pot all while sharing some amazing recipes…and all for free. It’s not that I begrudge anyone from making a living but when something can be gotten free…why not. If it is just the benefit you get from someone else planning out a meal plan, you can join six sisters and get recipes sent to your inbox and it can even set up a grocery list, I believe..again, for free. Anyway just keep doing what you’re doing, kiddo…You are great!

Girl go to Home Depot go to the lumber area early. You will find awesome labor workers there ask them to come over and see what you want! They build homes all day! Way cheaper for you good luck. I did our in may. We purchased the materials and paid them. Their labor cost $3200 total cost for added roof porch. $ 4300. Win win 👍🏼😊

I just tried my potato masher and it worked marvelous to smash the eggs! And to make it fast but simple, I add onion powder instead of green onions and then dried parsley to fool the eye and man; it is delicious!
