i one 100% love this car. its my second favorite honda after the first gen fit. I almost went for one if it wasnt for it being a coupe. i needed a bit more room, plus i didnt want to have to replace the battery on it. but honestly mpg's are unbeatable even by today's insights. would love one for road trips

@@cartere9981 I doesn't have a MAF :D Intake and coolant temp sensors are checked good, I've changed every single other sensor. Plus everything fuel and ignition related... I've given up after trying to fix it for three summers now, I have a Holley 4bbl carburetor waiting in a box.

weight affects mpg in stop and go, aero affects highway driving, that why the geo metro get good city mpg, it weights like 1800lbs

Get a CVT insight. Underinflate the tires and leave it in Low & Sport mode, and you'll get down to 20 or lower (floor it constantly and maybe break the transmission b4 you use up 1 tank of gas) ...

yea, weight makes more of an issue in lots of stop and go, but once you're up to speed it doesn't require as much to keep a car rolling, plus the Insight being a hybrid can recover some of that energy that was initially used to get you going. I was also surprised though about how much the aero made. For me to get that low of MPG I got fat stickier tires, short geared transmission and lead foot.

Given that I've seen my Insight read 30mpg+ at full throttle and redline, I'm very interested to see just how bad they can get it. You really have to work to burn a lot of gas in these, especially on the highway. In city driving you can really Exxon-Valdez it up though.
