In my view this is a superb presentation of some KS difficulties of perception, self esteem and the ability to read faces. Thank you.

Lucky me. While growing up I knew on a gut level that I was different from other people, I did not have a diagnosis that told me how I was different until later in life. Therefore, I did not a ready made reason to justify why this or why that and as a result I learned to recognize my feelings, (I read books) put words to those feelings, express those feelings, learn how to talk with others how to listen etc.......IF KS was the primary reason why I was socially awkward, how is it that while being socially awkward I learned how to overcome that on my own?

it may be difficult for some xxy to process relevant information but thats not the case for all xxy folk. Learning to process relevant information can be learned. Takes practice but what doesn't? Selecting relevant from irrelevant information is situationally dependent. Eg. your driving your car - you can look at the birds or you can watch traffic.......one wreak will likely make it clear what is relevant

please please STOP paying these hopeless students to talk on subjects they obviously know nothing about! I am 47xxy and was diagnosed at 42. socially my only problems are distraction and empathy. we could be deep in conversation , you would be telling me of some great event in life and I would be thinking of a word you said 12 sentences ago ...but you'd never know I wasn't listening and I'd be clueless to your great event. Empathy ... I don't have any ! the emotion doesn't exist within me. I now prefer to spend my days just me and dog, but In my younger days I did the rave scene and loved all night and day clubbing...where this lady study again?

well how does anyone know what they are feeling? Language maybe? A recent study by Brene Brown of thousands of non xxy people revealed that MOST people can identify and label only 3 emotions.....Sad, angry, scared. Again learning to identify one's feelings is a skill that needs to be taught. Its not an inherent ability that anyone has. Social - emotional learning in schools attempts to provide these skills, and again all this requires practice. Perception of social cues is a learned ability and one that is culturally conditioned. All of these "problems" are problems for everyone. Having KS is not, in my experience a reason or an excuse for not being able to 1) identify personal feelings 2) express them 3) get along with and communicate with others....EVERYONE has to learn how to do this

My point is that you are studying a minute segment of humanity (Klinefelters), and arbitrarily attributing physical and mental characteristics that are suffered by millions or billions, regardless of any specific condition. For example, you gather a group of 200,000 or 15 million with xxy and study their physical and mental characteristics. Then, you make a conclusion that 15 million XXY'S were studied and all showed social awkwardness, and therefore social awkwardness is a symptom of xxy because all 15 million experienced it. In fact, social awkwardness can be experienced by billions of people at some point or points in their lives, and for any number of reasons. You state the same for poor school performance and low IQ level, etc. You state xxy's suffer from man-boobs. Guess what? Millions of non-Klinefelter men, including me, suffer from man-boobs because we overeat. Before you can attribute a symptom specifically to Klinefelters, you need to exclude that same symptom from all other conditions across the population of non-Klinefelters (billions of people). Did you do that? My guess is no, because to study billions of people for what are essentially minor physical and psychological symptoms is not feasible. Klinefelters is not like proving the effectiveness of aspirin to relieve a specific symptom (headache), where you give a tablet to a handful of test subjects suffering head pain and they all experience immediate relief, and you can accurately presume a cause and effect relationship. I'm not saying your research is not valid to some degree. I'm saying the specific attribution of symptoms which can be experienced at some point by the population of the planet (i.e., poor school performance, late speech development, social awkwardness, clumsiness, low IQ, etc.), cannot be proven to be exclusive domain within Kleinfelters, regardless if every single xxy person experiences them. This is because everyone on the planet has the same potential to experience these characteristics, and you can't prove it is a symptom of a specific condition, such as Klinefelters. The minor psychological and physical attributes or symptoms highlighted in this video can be attributed to any number of the world's population, and for as many reasons. To state they are the domain of Kleinfelters is simply speculation, and not anywhere close enough to present to the public as validated research or conclusive evidence. Doctors and researchers are just as capable of misinformation as the rest of us, and should not inadvertently contribute to the stigmatization of people with diagnosed chromosome abnormalities through the publication of supposed related physical and psychological attributes, which could just as easily be attributed to non-chromsomal factors.

Apparently, you've never learned that if you have nothing kind to say then to refrain yourself and say nothing. I'm not so good at it either, which is why I'm gonna let you know... The video is about xxy, not the general public. It's not speculating. Perhaps, you should have a look at the brain regions of those with chromosome abnormalities or differences versus the general population. What you'll "learn" is that your dead wrong with your long drawn out and inappropriate approach. Maybe you missed that point out the gate. It's not a discussion for every male, just xxy males. Do not be rude to the people who created this film for xxy males and their parents or loved ones, or even educators. If you have similar symptoms then idk what to tell you other then to get checked. Have a karyotype test done or even a buccal smear, but please refrain yourself from being rude to this lady. She did a fine job at making this film and stayed on focus with the topic at hand. Being that I am xxy, I found it appealing and am grateful for the time they invested in making it and sharing it. Back to the brain, I'll even provide you some details because I'm xxy and wanted to know for myself, so I spent years researching it before I make false claims and make myself look like an imbecile. For starters, it effects the pituitary gland (pea shaped region). It also affects the hippocampus. You will notice the hippocampus resembles two horns within the brain. This region along with the pituitary gland effects emotion and memory. Next, there is the Anterior Cingulate which is located in the Neo-Cortex region of the brain. What's interesting about this region is that it's located in the Neo-cortex and not the R-Complex region where the hippocampus and pituitary are located, even though it has similar functions. Moving on, the Amygdala (Walnut shaped) is also affected. This is the flight or fight region of the brain. All these regions are located near the Pineal Gland (3rd Eye) and Thalamus (Control Center) except for the Anterior Consulate which I mentioned above, bc it's 2 layers higher. All these regions are behind the sphenoid bone which btw resembles a bat or moth/butterfly. (Think - Moth-man Prophecies)... In addition to these things that I have mentioned, it also effects the gray matter in the brain which is located in the Pre-Frontal cortex region as well as, the areas surrounding the dura mater and the arachnid matter (Dream Catcher region). A step further, it not only effects the genitals and the breast/chest region, but also major organs like the adrenal glands, thyroid and veins. Next time you wanna know something regarding the general population and the effects of Klinefelter's syndrome or other chromosome variations, I sure hope for your sake you research into things prior than just spewing non-sense out bc honestly, it's very offensive and makes your overall statements useless....

This presentation is ridiculous. All of the social attributes noted here can result from any number of factors. To attribute them solely to "Kleinfelters" is professionally irresponsible, and furthers the mass amount of misinformation on this syndrome that is found on the internet. I do not have Kleinfelters, but have extreme difficulty concentrating on this video because the content is Assinign. According to this speaker, I would therefore be suffering from Kleinfelters because I have trouble concentrating on this video.

This presentation was set together by a doctor, nevermind one that studies largely on the subject. How is this misinformation, at all? All of the case reports are verified klinefelter's patients. Therefore, they already have the condition, and they were studying the psychological functioning of ks males. I am very much confused by your comment. Verify?

I know. Most doctors I've seen online are idiots and the ones I've seen in person are as well. No doctor diagnosed me with it, yet they never ran a single KS test despite me physically and mentally being the poster child for KS. Yet these idiots online claim any person with 1 singular symptom suddenly have KS. I've seen guys without breasts getting diagnosed with KS yet I have breasts plus a very feminine body and still never got an official diagnosis. Most docs act like I'm tired all the time and have migraines and heart problems due to stress. Bull. It's KS.
