I ran into Brently at Mr Porkchop one day. You did a video on upgrading your bike helmets which inspired me to upgrade my old helmet I bought at Walmart years ago to a high end helmet this winter. 2 months before RAGBRAI, I was hill training and next thing I knew, I was in an ambulance on my way to the hospital. Still not sure what happened, but I was descending down a hill at 34mph, and when I applied the brakes, I flew over the handle bars about 12 feet and landed on my head and back. I was unconscious for 20 minute with a concussion. The entire back of my helmet was crinkled up. Amazingly enough, no broken bones, but a LOT of bruised ribs and terrible BPPV vertigo from crystals in my ear canal. I was able to heal up and ride RAGBRAI this year. It was so great to see you and thank you for making that video. If I was still wearing my old cheap helmet, who knows what shape I would be in now. Thank you for doing what you do!!

Howdy, Thank you so much for sharing your story. We are so happy you took our advice to purchased a new helmet. You just never know when something might happen and protecting your noggin is critical. It's so great you were able to heal up and ride RAGBRAI. Thanks for watching and for the awesome comment. Enjoy the Ride

Hey Y'all, We hope you enjoy this years RAGBRAI series. I'm sure you'll recognize a few of the people. I think vanlife is going to be really great for us. Now I just need to find the time to get the build done. Thanks for watching. Enjoy the Ride

We've got a Sprinter Van for our Outreach Program at the hospital. It's name is Bunnie. Bunnie is a sweet machine, and has really performed well for us--carrying a pretty heavy load up and over the mountain passes, as we travel from the coast up into the Okanagon in the Spring and Fall every year. We pump some pretty amazing work out of it...but we haven't had to spend the night in a Walmart parking lot with it yet! 😆

Hey Todd, Thanks for the story about your Sprinter Van experience. So far we've been having a great experience with the Promaster which as validated our decision to sell Byrdie and focus on a van. Looking forward to the build and getting on the road more full time. When we get to that point, we'll drive to BC and we can ride bikes. Thanks for watching. Enjoy the Ride

We've taken the new van on several trips now and we are absolutely loving it. You should absolutely consider getting one and hitting the road. I was sitting at your meetup spot in Glenwood eating food on those retaining walls behind your bike. Sorry, didn't realize you were using it as a meetup spot, just looked like a nice place to have a meal. I should have come over to say hi, i didn't want to bug you at the time. I camped near you guys and got some drone footage of the PBV camp. I saw myself in Ryan and Beth's video this year! Cool you included them, and you got an interview with Grant. I have seen Grant out there so many times over the years on the route, but never caught up with him in a town.
@BBB_Adventures2 ай бұрын
You absolutely should have come over and said "hi". Please do in the future, we'd love to chat. PBV camp makes for some spectacular drone footage with all those tents. Beth and Ryan and great people and have become good friends of ours. We really enjoy hanging out with them. And Grant is a trip. We've talked to him several times over the years but I believe this is the first time we've captured anything on video. Thanks for watching. Enjoy the Ride

Hey Greer, It was a great start and a fun Expo. We only know Steve was subscriber 48 because he noticed when he hit the subscribe button and remembered. I wish we could track that but we can't, but I'm sure your number is very special. Thanks for watching. Enjoy the Ride

Fun Video! Love the Van, Disco and those Tomato colored Converse!
@BBB_Adventures2 ай бұрын
Hey Chris, Glad you enjoyed this episode. The van is turning out to be a great choice for us. We are out in it again for a few weeks and we are getting some great ideas for the final build. I'd love to have a pair of those Converse. The ones made in the US were way better than the ones you get now which are made in Vietnam or China. Thanks for watching. Enjoy the Ride

Good shot with the dryer! Could be your FB photo! 😂 Good to see you in my state. I live in Ames. Have followed you since at least 2021 or 2022, you and Duzer. I see you have on Duzer shirts. Look forward to seeing your take on RAGBRAI.
@BBB_Adventures2 ай бұрын
Hey Katherine, Yeah....not sure those shots with me and the car dryer are the most flattering pictures. Ha ha. We love your state and over the last 10 years of RAGBRAI have fallen in love with the awesome people. Iowa Nice is a real thing. It's so cool you're a long time viewer. You have no idea how much we appreciate the support. Duzer has been a great influence on us and a great friend. He's the real deal. Thanks for watching and stay tuned for the rest of our RAGBRAI 2024 series. Enjoy the Ride

Love the dance and thanks MB for making him show us. How did Grant's Ragbrai go this year? The bus ride from east to west seemed much quieter than some of your rides of past. I am loving the extra puppy camera time.
@BBB_Adventures2 ай бұрын
Hey Dave, Well, the dancing was a bit more exciting when I was just performing just for Mb, but I got self-conscious and dialed it back when she turned on the camera. Grant really enjoyed RAGBRAI. I'm guessing he'll do it again next year, at least we hope so. Yes, the bus ride was a bit more laid back than in previous years. Partly because we were keeping a close eye on Disco on the bus and partly because some of our more crazy friends (the ones that bring out my inner 4th grader) weren't on board. Thanks for watching. Enjoy the Ride

Awesome van. Looks like a great drive thru remote part WY, there's a great Thai restaurant in Rawlins, for future trips! And BTW, I love the dog bed positioning for Disco ❤

I drove through Rawlins in 2001. Just saw the penitentiary!
@BBB_Adventures2 ай бұрын
Hey Lane, We are loving the van and getting some great ideas for the final build. Wyoming can be both beautiful and boring. It can also be super windy. Thanks for the tip about the Thai place in Rawlings. Disco's bed currently sits on our cooler between the seats but I have some ideas about how to build a structure there that holds his bed while driving but gets out of the way so the seats can swivel around and face the living space. Thanks for watching. Enjoy the Ride

What do you have Disco’s bed between the seats in the van mounted on? Looking for a solution for my van
@BBB_Adventures2 ай бұрын
Hey Eric, Our current solution is a medium sized cooler between the seats. But that won't work long term when we get the van build done. I have some concepts in mind but nothing finalized. It's an interesting design problem because it needs to be secure but also can't be permanently mounted or it would prevent the seats from swiveling and would limit access between the rear of the van and the cab. Stay tuned our plan is to post many episodes of the van build and you'll be able to see the final solution. Thanks for watching. Enjoy the Ride

Howdy, You're absolutely right, from Idaho it's a long drive to Iowa and there are some pretty boring sections of I-80 in Wyoming and Nebraska. But it's worth it in order to do RAGBRAI. Thanks for watching. Enjoy the Ride
