The problem with some TX22 magazines is that the spring binds up. Take the mag apart, put some dry lube in the section where the spring goes, feed the spring back in carefully (I kind of pull it in a little at a time) so it is straight. You can tell you got it right if you slide the tabs up and down and don't feel the binding. I had 3 of 6 magazines with this issue. Fixed them and ran 1,000 rounds through them with zero FTF.

Ok I realize that I'm 2 years late for this party, however, this info is much appreciated. I recently purchased the TX22 compact. I want it to run flawlessly when my wife first tries it so she will really enjoy shooting. Thanks, Bro!

@@davidt4102 i got the P17 ... 1st time it was garbage, stove pipes left and right thru all 3 mags even after filling the same 3 mags a 2nd time, stove pipes every 2-3 shots. Came back 2 weeks later and all 3 mags fired perfect. Came back 2 weels later again, every other mag was perfect while the other mags had 1-2 stove pipes per mag ... This P17 is def not consistent, one mag is flawless, next one stove pipes, next mag perfect, next one stove pipes ...

Tried everything talked about go no avail, sending back to Taurus, surprisingly they are paying shipping, some had said they would not. Probably be gone a month or more. Want to love the gun, but never went through one mag without multiple stove pipes, and yes tried multiple different brands of ammo. Hoping it comes back fixed.

My Taurus was extremely reliable up until the mags were dirty. I did 500 rounds with no issues and no cleaning. Now she needs a bath to run good again

I would bet these mags were loaded using the pull down tabs on the magazine. In my experience if you load them one by one or with the mag loader it came with you won’t have any problems.

I have found that my TX mags don’t like Stingers. The Stingers are just a mm or 2 longer than Aguilars, and they tend to catch on the front edge on the mag body. Has anyone else noticed this?

Thanks for the video. Apparently lube worked but my concern is lube will attract dirt, especially while dropping mags on the ground.

If you have a TX22 here are my suggestions. 1. Load the rounds one by one and do not use the pull down tabs on the mag 2. Do not use CCI velocitors or stingers….unless you want a cracked slide 3. Don’t mod this thing out….just use factory stuff. If you do all that it will run fine

So you do not recommend aguila interceptors for the tx22 compact

I have never had to lube a mag ,all lube does is attract and attaches powder residue . You might try tandemkross green springs.

Any dry lubricant should work so I'm going to try Lucas Slick Mist. Buying gun oils for lots of money for little bottles seems silly. If it doesn't work, I can always wax my car.

I'll have to try that. I hate my TX22, it's been the worst piece of garbage ever. Taurus wouldn't even pay for shipping to get it checked out. Mine came with the grittiest action ever. I replaced the recoil rod and it's gone from the worst to almost the crappiest gun ever.

@@grayghost6673 I've cleaned mine way more than necessary. I've just scrubbed the worthless magazines and put some lithium grease in them and in the gun itself. If this doesn't fix it, I'll try some dry lubricant if that doesn't work I'll look into getting rid of the damn thing. Last time, it jammed about five rounds in one magazine.
