Hey everyone started my journey 9 days ago,, at 62 drinking 5 to 8 beer everyday , and trying to workout,, well it wasn't working very well, the biggest thing is the whole "feelings " thing , and my sleep is jacked for sure, but I feel better in spite of this, it's worth it, keep me in your prayers

Youre in my prayers, im going on 8 weeks sober and i just randomly started feeling sick after watching people needing liver transplants and i realized and was literally feeling that i was so close to that.

Day 4. Bought a drink while listening….. spent an hour considering things while listening. Dumped it in the grass. I beat it. Making a smoothie, hopping in the shower, and going to have a good and productive day and make it to day 5. 🎉

I think I became a better representative of sobriety! I may have influenced 2 neighbors who dont even know each other to give quitting a try just because they observed how happy and healthy and how quitting has had a positive impact in my life 😁

I saw on another site that giving up alcohol is easier than keep trying to give up alcohol. I thought that broke it down easily.

I really resonated with how much free time you have when you’re not constantly in drinking/recovery mode. I never realized how much time I wasted sleeping, feeling like shit, partying and repeating that cycle. I have so much new found energy and motivation to get things done and surprisingly enough my space has gotten super clean and it’s easier to keep up with chores and actually enjoy them. I also loved “I can do everything sober except drink”. I used to think I needed alcohol to socialize but that is absolutely not the case and it’s surprising how much confidence we actually do have deep down that we doubt and mask with alcohol for that little “extra boost”. Thank you again for a great video.. you help more than you know💕

Im on my 2nd sober day!!!!! and its not exciting, its scary, ive never felt so alone, unwanted n overwhelmed. Are these common feelings when trying to quit?
@GettingSoberAgain3 жыл бұрын
Yes... When you've spent your whole life modeling it around a quick dopamine release substance like alcohol, yes it's common. You have real life work to do. It's time to pick yourself up, dust yourself off and find out who you really are. It sounds scary, I know, but if you never find out who you really are, nobody else will either... Including me. SO, congrats on your day 2, let's keep the momentum going for day 3 and tonight's livestream

Hi Donna Aries Breath. You're so right, it is scary, overwhelming!, all of that at 1st. We have all been there and know exactly how you feel. This is a safe place. I promise it gets better. Please hang in there and come back on Friday! We are here to help and talk to.💜

You can do it! I found that I needed to fill the void that drinking left with something positive. For me it was getting into great shape for my 40th birthday. Been something like four months now and honestly I hardly even think about drinking now. And I had it BAD for something like 15 years.

Listening to this channel every morning is so amazing always been a fan of this channel that's been subscribed for a while now. You helped me get off opiates even though it's not alcohol and I love listening to what you say it's just so positive brother❤❤

@@GettingSoberAgain how did you handle the anxiety aspect of everything? Like going to bed at night etcetera. I've been practicing more time for 15 years but still have that Panic anxiety that I really can't shake. Even being sober it's still very hard and I don't crave opiates or anything anymore that's like a past life but I just can't shake that part.:-(

Another thing I noticed when I got sober from opiates was that there was certain things I did enjoy a lot, while using it when I stop it's not that they became less enjoyable it's that I was looking at myself and saying when the hell would I ever be interested in something like that? And I don't mean the opiates just different things like shows or movies that my real self would not really be interested in, because I don't have that dopamine rush to cause false reality and false desires❤❤❤ play always share this page with different people so like I said one other time I hope they followed you and checked your content out I always keep your page out there for people even people on opiates your principles all matter the same❤❤❤

I found leaving alcohol alone a lot easier once I was diagnosed with ADHD. That's easier, not "easy". Meds have helped a lot, but they only last about 8-10 hours. Exercise has also been a Godsend. It's a better buzz than booze! (Try saying THAT when you're drunk!) 🤸♂️💪
