Excellent work, George! It has grown in astonishingly well. Must be doing it right! I love the mixture of carpeting plants, makes the plants look as if they'd interweaved in nature rather than the uniform, controlled setting. The hydrocotyle is probably my favourite plant in the setup as it breaks up the texture and stands out nicely. This is a kind of scape that I dream of one day having. As far as fish suggestions go I would like to see in this tank something like glowlight tetra (Hemigrammus erythrozonus) - their near transparent bodies contrasted by the fiery-red glow from the inside. And it wouldn't be me not to mention my favourite golden pencilfish (Nannostomus beckfordi) too. Keep on scaping!

Fantastic work! 4 week plant growth is unreal!! I can see the delight in your face at the beginning of the video. :-) I've just bought an Eheim Pro 3e 600T - Loving that filter at the moment, and no more titanium heater in the tank. Yay! Looking forward to your next videos already. Fish wise: I've just ordered a bunch of Glowlight Danio's - I chose Danio's because they seem to enjoy high-flow tank setup's, due to where they are found in the wild. There are some amazing species of Danio out there, might be worth looking at those.

Hello George, It seems I am running a bit late on your videos, but I still love watching them! I am an X- fishkeeper. I retired and here I am again. THINGS HAVE CHANGED DRASTICALLY, but for the better. If by chance, you are still doing scapes, could you or a friend tell me The ratio on the CO2, the fog apparatus and probably all the other techniques used to produce the Marvelous Tank you created? I am having a bit of trouble understanding some of your words and please dont take that wrong. You would need an interpreter to grasp my accent!! It is soooooo yankeefide. Love your work!!

It's beautiful... thanks for the inspiration. I'm setting up my 10 gallon (37.85 liter) tank next week. I'm on too much of a budget to use real plants, but I still took inspiration from you.
@mercury001696 жыл бұрын
Just check the forums on the net, find some local hobbyists, I'm sure you can get some easy plants real cheap!. Someone may even give them away after trimming their own tanks. Get some java fern, java moss, a few other easy plants and you got yourself a low tech tank! You don't even need fancy substrate or fertilizers for this :)
@soak7856 жыл бұрын
Tyler Sherwood Even a guppy grass which is cheap would be nice. .it grows like crazy. .good luck
@sorscha6 жыл бұрын
Really try to get some real plants in there! If you can source some cheap cuttings as suggested, you can establish a right proper ecosystem. So much easier to stabilise your tank levels if you can use real plants, I think, but I'm no expert.

Incredible how that's grown so well. I think for fish you need the emperor tetra. Good size and some lovely colouring but not to bold to take all the attention when you first look at the tank, with that lush planted background. 👌

Hi George, your mate Steven is lucky to have a friend like you to create such a great scape! I've never built an aquascape tank before and I haven't run an aquarium in a good 12 years or more. I'm curious about the lack of glass covers on your tanks. Is there a specific reason for this, apart from hard scape breaking the surface? How does it go with evaporation and "enthusiastic" fish who might leap out?

Hi George, do you clean sometimes Twinstar electrode? If yes than what do you use to clean it. Mine is 2 years in action and unfortunately only outside dia is producing O2. Rest of the Twinstar remain "dead". It looks like stone buildup, I tried many things to clean it but nothing works, maybe is time to exchange electrode? Please advice. Can you give me an advice on growing monte carlo without CO2 ?
@FECtetra19186 жыл бұрын
You'd be asking for problems going high light with no co2. Algae will take over. You could keep it alive with a lower tech setup, but it might take forever to carpet. My suggestion: buy enough to carpet from the beginning or use DYI co2 for the first few weeks.

George you have shrimp in several of your tanks. How do they cope with the 50% water change? Many shrimp keepers would say they should not survive the the proof of the pudding is in the eating as they are there and look happy.
@HeyBear5036 жыл бұрын
Cherry and Amano shrimp, hard as nails! :) The Caridina varieties like crystal reds etc. are less hardy generally, they're the one's that might struggle more with large parameter changes.
