@@JimSendre Yes I think the rails are the hardest to nail and they are honestly underrated The transitions might be hard to get consistent but if you get 90% perfect you're ok, the train tracks are incredibly difficult to get +50% of use

He was playing a GFRED survival with this Dark viper guy who has well over 10,000 hours of playtime in GTA 5, that's 416 days. Dark viper was shit at driving, and still didn't know some areas of the map very well. That makes Broughy look a little better imo 😂

If you've watched him speedrun you'll know he can drive when he needs to. Broughy isn't even on his level by a long way and that comes to flying as well. When Broughy can complete GTA5 in under 10 hours in one sitting then we'll talk. Plus DarkViperAU has got over a million subs and is very well known in the GTA5 community. Don't underestimate DVAU his Passive and No Damage GTA5 Series are legendary.

You need to learn how to airbrake to do this... Hold brake not all the way down and slightly and tap acceleration. Find a balance so the engine doesn't turn off. It's very important when descending in tight spaces. If you do it right, it's almost like having a hover mode function in the lazer, you go very slow. Having the landing gear out is very important.

I haven't played in 5 years (fuck Rockstar) but I remember from my old Lazer days there's a way to get it into something like a stall and almost hover, IIRC it involves high angle of attack and alternating taps on air brake and engine power. You can fly it almost like a helicopter if you do that

Broughy: Drives right next to the quarry "That's a very hard checkpoint to get in tbe lazer". Drives away from the checkpoint two feet from his face to get a lazer, crashes immediately 🤦. I sometimes wonder if Brough intentionally makes the worst decisions possible to make his vids more unpredictable, or if he's genuinely shit at making decisions.

There was logic there.. if he went to the quarry he would be leaving after everyone.. who could have gone for a lazer therefore less chance of getting the lazer .. if a lot of people went for it. In the end it seems like not that many people went for the lazer.. but that wasn't obvious at that point. So his decision wasn't bad you're just not taking some aspects into account.

Quickest possible Gfred? Oppressor mk2FRED. Spawn at start island on the mk2. Definitely below 10 minutes.

Actually not a bad idea, only thing is making sure you either land it safely or park it somewhere where someone won't nick it It might be worth parking a fair way away. The time saved from the jet is enormous, it could make up for the jog to the checkpoint

Quarry first isn't just safe play its fastest. Easier to get in car, you're right there anyway and when you then get Laser you can fly straight to airport saving a minute or more of flight time.

Maybe. 🤷‍♂️ If in the air … I think that check point has to be done going West to East so there is time to get the jet up. Because checkpoint is closer to the West side of the pit, the turnaround attempt is a suicide trip. I am no expert on this stuff, just guessing. I am going to load up GFRED and see if I can figure it out.

Thats why I don't trust Lazers(or any plane in GTA 5 besides the Pyro), recently I told myself "screw it" and bought and fully upgraded the F-160 Raiju, who handles 1000x better than any plane besides the Pyro, and 2 minutes in testing it/having fun BOOM nose dove into the ground(invite only session so I wasn't griefing) and I thought to myself again "WHY THE HELL AM I SO BAD FLYING PLANES IN THIS GAME PARTICULARY? I'M HALF DECENT ON ACE COMBAT 7 FOR CRYING OUT LOUD"(half decent enough to finish in top half most of the times on the 8 players free-for-all lobbies at least, without using those broken jets with EMPs and OP lazers, and on team vs team? even without communication I know which bandits to go after to pick the enemy team apart)

Planes don't spawn at the airport, neither do heli's spawn anywhere. Only Zancudo has the Lazer spawns

Yeah seems like it would be faster... get the quarry checkpoint drive to the Zancudo take the plane to the airport vs drive to Zancudo, take the plane back to the quarry and then fly to the airport.

GFRED SUMMARY SERIES Gfred #295: LazerFreds - Only After the Freeway, and No Weapons . . . . SPOILER ALERT Now onto the No Rules Fred, Vehicle can be whatever you want, but you still can’t use Weapons. But he’ll only read the Donations after the NoRulesFred. Because he doesn’t have much time between jobs in a Playlist. He’ll do it once he loads up Xbox. And yes, Bash, Motorcycles are OK. And he just goes for it for it being 28 people. And remember, Normal Start. All bets are off once you got a Vehicle. Well, Welcome to Day 2 and we’ll be seeing some Planes on this one. GT Driver said “will the Lazer make it up Chiliad in the rain?” He ruined the illusion of this race being directly after the MiniFred by explaining it. And he still doesn’t have the Scuba Suit since it’s a Playlist. He hoped that the other two Gfred Platforms, he will remember to put on Suits and Chutes. He’s at disadvantage at the start, again. Mini Momma said “Yesterday feels like 15 minutes ago” Is he really like to wear the same shirt on multiple days however? And he’s selling out the Gfred Merch now. He looks exactly the same in Four Days indeed. Hello said “This is going to be 1 full meme” Then he somehow pulls up a Sniper on the Water??? And he struggled to climb the Lighthouse with the Jetski around. Still, this race is basically LazerFred, and he only done this one once before. Of course, there’s finite amount of Lazers and it’s a bit of a nightmare to spawn them. So, some might go for a regular Gfred, the Rain might complicate things. The Winner will be the first Lazer to hit all the Checkpoints flawlessly. But there will be a lot of Failures. And do you go to Quarry or the Lazer first. He instead takes the Safe Route since he’s already behind in 19th after the Swim. He got a Paint Dad Joke. Now he needs a Vehicle on the Right Side. All he found is a Youga stolen from Chaparral. All the Triangle Spamming works. The Wait is worth it. Now he had a dilemma. Depends on how many gone straight to Zancudo. And the Quarry is the hardest one to reach in the Lazer. And he chose… to jump people and go for Zancudo first, when he’s right next to enter it. He’s not like Mannequin who’s in a Bullet… and chose to take regular Gfred. And he ALMOST took a wrong way into Sandy Shores instead of Route 68. Igor said “You crashed in Lazer in Quarry last time Broughy” but he argued it’s so long ago he can’t remember. So, it didn’t happen in his mind. Joughy said “FOR CONTENT” Phil said “Check the Airport?”, but actually, no Aircraft spawn in the Airport. No point checking the Airfield either. And he thinks there’s only 2 people ahead of him at Zancudo. Many goes to the Quarry first. Darogen asked “How many Lazers are there?” and he thinks there’s 5-6 Spawn Points. But the Spawn isn’t a Guarantee, especially when people took it, and it takes too long and it became a mess. It happened last time but he can’t remember. He’s sure that it was a long time ago though. And Dream Master has caught a Lazer. As long as he doesn’t crash especially in Quarry, he’ll win. That’s how this going to go. Saor Frei also got one. Darogen said “The other ones aren't easy either” And he supposes, he can turn on the Chat for the Rest. He’s a little scared. AND! Dreammaster died in the Quarry. See, it’s Risky man. Saor Frei tried to dive and he’s dead. Broughy failed on first attempt. AND! Ironically the Landing Gear is the one that doesn’t help him the checkpoint, but rather caught the Cliff and kill him. He got the Checkpoint at least. RBS said “Gear down isn’t the right choice, it makes you less maneuverable”, and Broughy did wonder about that. So, he’s better off coming to the Quarry first. Stainsey asked “Was it the landing gear that killed you?” So now, he’s last, even though it’s still quicker to go to Zancudo again first, and try beating some who did regular Gfred. At least he got a Baller this time. That’s the thing, it’s so risky, he now proved it on both LazerFreds. Ryzeka said “Sunk Cost Fallacy?” No point doing regular Gfred at this point. AND! Turns out he turned on Slipstream as he seen against Saor Frei. No Restriction Big Time. Time to work in Tandem. And now he met those in Regular Gfreds at Harmony. He saw some in Lazers and going to Chiliad. Quarry before Lazer is just the Play, Safety with Speed. Can he beat Regular Gfredders now? Roynish said “Nah, you went for content” Now he believed someone already going to Broughy Island. It would be bad if he went back to the Lighthouse indeed. Nikon Boy took the win, 13:16. He thought he did Quarry first, but since he’s right behind Broughy when he got the Lazer, it’s uncertain. He wondered what the absolute quickest Gfred is however. Verdilith said “Pronounced NY CON BOY” as Ikaonashi and Pink Sheep took the Podium. Some Lazy Lazer-y users. If he beat the regular Gfredders, then that would be a result. He’s currently 24th. Jetski if it spawns, car ASAP, getting the Lazer ASAP, could it be Sub-10 Minutes? Don’t forget to fly high for the speed, higher than Vinewood Hills. Maybe that could be a Solo WR Category, the Any%, as he’s still 24th and not gaining any places. He came to Chiliad after everybody else too. Now he’s making some places, quickly reaching 15th. Just like Real Life Racing Episode in the Rain. Jamesy said “Got killed on highway. Was last. Ended up 5th. Happy with that” That was a good comeback. That’s what Lazer can do, and now Observatory is the 2nd worst Checkpoint. He’s in it for Top Ten. He missed first try. He failed 2nd Attempt. And Saor Frei overtook him in his own Lazer. He failed Third Time, He hit the Ground on fourth attempt, damaging the Lazer. He never been this bad when flying a plane. He might not even make it to the End. And he did nail it the first time he does LazerFred. He could have had Sixth place which Saor Frei got. And nobody doing Regular Gfred had finished yet. He can see Broughy Island, as Frozen Hunt got 7th, who had a regular Gfred time. At least he made it to the Island without dying, but still, he got beaten by someone doing a Regular Gfred. That is pretty poor on his part. It’s fun though to mix it up. You HAD to be good to do Quarry on a Lazer. And the gaps are interesting. But still, 8th after dying, that’s the Power of the Lazer. Saor Frei said “I wonder if the play is to literally land the Lazer at the Quarry, slowly grab it, then take off. He’s unsure how to land it though. Maybe if you’re good. GT Driver said “When you had your first attempt at the quarry CP, I was in the lead on sports car road going to chiliad Broughy1322” So yeah, if you took Zancudo before Quarry, regular Gfredder is already on Senora Road. And after that, they got eaten up. Phil said “TBF you were in a slow van” so Sub 10 is possible. Meanwhile, Mannequin is 9th, GT Driver is 10th, and KDawg is 14th. Mogily said “If you come in from the right side of the quarry you have much more time to pull up from the left side” There has to be better methods, but this is done so infrequently it’s impossible to test on.
