I tried this combo and it was amazing. Thank you for making this video. The sigma 50mm works very well with the 100s and the resolution is great. Is there Mitakon better? I am worried about the slowness and misses of manual focus - what has been your experience? Are the images better with the mitakon as compared to sigma?
@sethiphotographyАй бұрын
Glad you you found the video informative. It’s a great set up. The mitakon is an excellent lens but I would only use it for posed shots unless you are very skilled at manual focusing for moving objects.

Really enjoy seeing your examples. People on the MF forums talk a lot about the sigma 40mm but nice to see that the other sigma art series hold up as well

Great review and interesting use of alternate lenses to produce stunning results. With the advances of the 100ii in autofocus I think the extra money is worth the gains in AF performance. I’m sure your wedding clients were very happy with the results

Hey, thank you for your comments, I will definitely check out the 100ii when my pocket allows it :)

I adapted my Nikon 200-500 and very sharp. Also no dark corners until zoomed in at 500mm

Appreciate you sharing your experience! I am trying to decide whether to go gfx from my Sony kit or not.... ;) Doing Family shoots with my xt5 for over a year then doing family shoots with the a7rv I actually was missing more moments with my Sony because of the ability to shoot at such a rapid and accurate pace... its like it was mixing my brain up ROFL. Still using my Sony kit for fast paced events but honestly it just doesn't bring me the same kind of joy using it as my xt5 does. Another point you made about taking less images is very cool as I have also seen a massive decrease on the number of images I take.... Probably about 25% of the number of images I use to come home with. (Have been forcing myself to shoot in single shot on the Sony) Subbed! Also... Beautiful Images sir 🙏

Hey Jason, Thank you for your comments, I'm glad you found the video informative. I think we all get carried away with tech improvements and can forget why we use cameras in the first place. Hanging back in the slow lane is a good place to be. The X-T5 is a great camera, I have just uploaded another video about the x-h2 which you may want to check out. kzbin.info/www/bejne/mKXEaIereZt0brs

Interesting to see your pics and review of the Sigma 50f1.4 and the Mitakon 65f1.4 towards the end. I recently purchased a 100s with the GF35-70. I got the Fringer adapter to mount the EF40f2.8, but I really like the standard (50mm FF equivalent) focal length. So my question is if you have to choose one lens to be that standard lens, would it be the Sigma or the Mitakon, or something else?
@sethiphotography2 ай бұрын
Hey, if I had to choose, I think it would be the Mitakon as it really does give you that medium format look.
@kennethcheong44982 ай бұрын
@@sethiphotography Thanks. I just placed an order for the Mitakon while on Holiday24 sale (15% off). Looking forward to this special lens.

@@sethiphotography Just got the nikon version for some f mount lenses. and a sigma 24mm. So was wondering 👍

Nice overview, Sethi. I really enjoyed seeing your images. Are there any other EF-Mount lenses you are thinking of acquiring now that you have the Fringer adapter?

Thank you, for now I’m happy with the 50mm, I may consider the sigma 85 1.4 for future use and the sigma 35mm 1.4. They are cheap enough to buy and work really well.
@alexdubois65854 ай бұрын
Great shots. You should try to close a bit the sigma to see how much it change the focal plain and the separation while probably improving even more resolution and contrast...

Thank you, I will try to stop down to f2 next time i shoot a wedding.

I have the 65mm mitakon and also the 55mm 1.7 GF. Let me tell you the 55mm is an amazing lens, i shot a wedding just with it. All the photos had the medium format look. It's totally worth it. I used the 50mm sigma aswell, but nothing compares to the 55mm1.7.
@sethiphotography5 ай бұрын
maybe I will hire one for my next wedding.
@timpriestley89973 ай бұрын
Agree 55 1.7 is a great lens, but honestly the price to output this Set up definitely pushes the question on what an adapted lens can do for a much cheaper option
@sethiphotography3 ай бұрын
@@timpriestley8997 agreed, this is why I’m sticking to the sigma 50
@kristoffergo62943 ай бұрын
@@timpriestley8997 Oh man! I said the same thing. I have almost all of the Mamiya 645 lenses, dont get me wrong these are beautiful lenses. But man the 55mm 1.7 is just on the league of it's own.

Have you tried gfx 100S II. If possible can you compare.

I would love to compare, it’s an expensive camera, if I ever get one, I’ll definitely compare the two :)

Hey have you tried to ef 50 mm 1.2 L Nice informative video tnx!!!
@sethiphotography5 ай бұрын
Hey, thanks! I have not tried the EF 50mm f1.2 yet. I think it's a slower focusing lens and I felt that pairing it with an already slow focussing camera was probably not a good idea. I will look into it though. Thanks for the suggestion.
