I wanted to share my thoughts about moving to the GFX system now that I have been using my camera for a couple of months. I wanted to share what I think are valid pros and cons of moving to the system. I hope this video is informative for you.
Check out my previous video on about adapting the Sigma 50mm f1.4 via the Fringer EF-GFX Pro adapter. / or0rvur8bk
This video was filmed on a Fujifilm X-H2S+XF 18mm f1.4

The Fujifilm 50s ii has a mechanical shutter that goes to 4000th of a second and if you plan to shoot with fast glass like the Mitakon wide open, you're going to have very stable hands, use a tripod or a ND filter, because the electronic shutter can introduce warping effect (forgot the proper term). However the files coming out of this camera is something else and once you go GFX, it's hard to ever imagine going back 😂 Much love

Hey, yes I completely agree, the rolling shutter is really bad on these medium format cameras so I try and use an ND filter where possible. Ive owned a GFX camera for around 4 months and definitely will never go back :)

Genial, yo pase de Sony a la GFX 100S, tengo el 63mm f2.8 y el 110mm f2 y el cambio es brutal. Ya no vuelvo atrás, me enamore de Fuji

Thanks for sharing some really good advice re pros and cons……. The 100Sii is on my shortlist as an upgrade to my R5 which I have enjoyed very much. Like most people I’m lured by the MF image quality, Fuji colour and dynamic range. I also plan to use my Hasselblad v lenses with an adaptor!

Glad it was helpful! Fuji colours are definitely worth the move. Good luck.

I recently added the gfx 100s II and will continue to use my R5 as well depending on the shoot needs. Really happy with the camera. The R5 is a phenomenal camera as is the GFX. I have bought three lenses for it but also adapted some of my Canon EF lenses using a Fringer adapter. The GFX is a slower camera to use. Not a bad thing. Not an issue for most commercial work but the R5 will be my go-to for editorial.

@@user-cd4jg7eb1xI’m eyeing up the gfx 100s ii. Can’t afford it right now. Might just hire it for my next shoot and see how much quicker it is compared to my 100s

@user-cd4jg7eb1x I recently added the GFX 100s ii to my lineup of cameras. It is definitely a camera that you want to take your sweet time with it. For the rest I have the XH2 and a 5D iv.

You're certainly right about the price. I've been taking the GFX50Sii with the GF20-35 out on hikes. Awesome landscape set-up, but the combo was nearly $5k. Also, I would only consider the GFX system for hiking if you're a true glutton for punishment hahah. I think my camera + tripod weighs more than my ultralight backpacking kit.

agreed, its a fairly priced option and very heavy, the pain is worth it though when you see the the pixels in all of their glory.

Nice review. Gotta say for action/ wildlife stick with Nikon/ Canon etc. So many more long lenses available and AF and frame rate etc just blitz the GFX's. I'm using and old Nikkor 600mm f4 manual focus on a GFX 50Sii to see jow it goes but although the benefits of the Fuji sensor etc are there the focus with the EVF and slow shutter response/ blackout etc are painful. I much prefer my D800E with its optical finder where I can find the subject, usually birds, focus and fire of multiple framescwith ease.

Hey, thanks for the comment, yes totally agree...for sports and wildlife, definitely stick to full frame, Canon and Sony and knocking it out of the park with their AS System. The GFX system is more for intentional photography which is slow paced. Each system has its pros and cons I suppose. Best of luck with your experiments.

Very nice video, exactly the information i was looking for, please keep them coming! I will move to GFX system as it fits my use cases and im thinking on getting one of the 100mp S versions, but i want to know, how does the 100s compares to the 100s II, would you get the II? Or for the price its better to get mark I? Thanks!!

Hey! thank you for your comment. The 100S is a great camera and if your style is similar to mine, then I would not recommend buying the markII, if you are looking for faster AF, then the markII is the better option. I have not personally compared the two camera, but keep an eye out on the channel, as soon as I can get one, I will post a comparison video.

Thanks a lot. Very informative, but I will stay with my Z9 and the Brenizer Method or Panoramic Stitching, and wait for Fujifilm to get better.

Yes the Brenizer method can also achieve that wide medium format look. I’ve heard many good things about the Z9. Thank you for watching
