Kyle comes across to me as a person people mistake as a harda$$ but is really chill in real life. A guy who got his friends back too. Raphael seems like the type of guy who would give himself an ulcer from over work. Like he constantly has five projects going at once and is stressing about meeting self-imposed deadlines in his long term plans. Preston seems like the type to nerd out about history and obscure clothing facts but is quite comfortable in his own skin and hobbys because his friends "get" him and are just like him with their own interests.

@MannyBrum3 жыл бұрын
I mean IRL body guards and law enforcement can look like literally anyone. They can be old, young, in shape, out of shape, whatever. I think they're talking about stereotypical bodyguards from movies. He's muscular, tall, bald, facial hair, often wears short sleeves. I have a lot of people ask me if I drove a motorcycle when my hair and beard is grown out. I'm not even close to a biker but I can see how people will think that because certain qualities are always assigned to certain roles in TV and movies.

@@MannyBrum In real life, bodyguards are often selected for their intimidating appearance. Others get into too many unnecessary fights as people think they can 'take them.' That was fun. I really enjoyed much of your content. I am fascinated by the 1930's in terms of style, art, culture, and technology, but in most cases, I don't think I can "carry it off." I basically dress like a peasant: cargo pants, backpacks, crocs - I opt for comfort over style. To some extent, this is the natural consequence of spending over 15 years in harsh, high risk environments. I understand why you stopped the references to "peasants," but I thought it was both accurate and mild compared to what others think when they first see them. Only the insecure and self-conscious were offended. I thought it was funny, and kind of motivated me to be less like a peasant. Thanks for making all this content.

Es kann aber auch der Erntearbeiter („Schnitter“) gemeint gewesen sein, selbst jemand, der besonders tapfer war, der also „Schneid“ bewies. Hey Sven and co, this is really offbeat but sort of goes with the Gentleman esque lifestyle... what do you think of Latin? The language? Do you know anything about it? Do you think it's a gentlemen thing to learn? Sort of like how it's good to learn the ins and outs of fine wine, clothing, and perhaps music and arts. I've been interested in it lately and wonder if there's a place for it in this kind of lifestyle
@gentlemansgazette3 жыл бұрын
In Germany, it used to be compulsory in a humanistic Gymnasium. I had the chance to learn it, but opten for French and English instead. I know a few quotes in Latin, that's about it. As many languages are based on latin I don't think it is bad to know. At the same time if you learn Spanish, Italian or French, learning other Roman languages should be easier too.
@jayphelps1536 Жыл бұрын
In my English Prep School and Public school we learnt Latin. It has been helpful in life, however, being a gentleman is simply about behaviour and a little about style. (No Gentleman would ever own or wear a baseball cap under any circumstances!) It is not about flaunting one's education, which is unpleasant and crass. I appreciate your modesty, and that you understand that approaches to style do change from culture to culture. I will always remain bemused by "wingtips"! ( I wear brogues!) You all seem to learn and adapt from your experiences and are kind chaps. I have appreciated your shoe restoration videos. Carry on. Kind Regards - Phelps
